  1. Tubbs

Dug out another Warner Bros white demo.

Gerald Sims - You'll Never Be Sorry / Rocket.

On this the matrix numbers are scatched in.

    YNBS side is WB - 7680 QIL - 0016 - S 1B. (Stars on this label).

    Rocket side is WB - 7680 QIL - 0017 - S 1A.

Same question again, why are the matrix numbers the same on both sides of Bobby Sheen.

Anybody out there got a white demo of Bobby Sheen with a different matrix number on each side.

  5. take it  this is this one with her uptempo version of

    "On Easy Street."

    whats other track Brett

    link

    Mike

It could be "You Never Should have Loved Me"

I think the British copy of the album is just called Freda Payne and "On Easy Street" isn't on the UK copy.

  6. Herman George - Mental High is listed on ebay at the moment #4038910645.

This copy has a muti coloured petal label. My own copy is an orange / yellow swirl design and I've also seen it with a plain orange label. Anyone know what's the first issue and is any of these a boot / reissue.

    Thanks.

  7. Kenny Burrell review taken from Dave Rimmers Soulful Kinda Music issue 32 December 1997.

Linda Hawley - Use Your Head - Excalibur

The first of several cover versions on this tape and I have to say for me this is far superior to the Mary Wells classic. It's more uptempo with superior arrangement and not too well known.

I have to disagree with Kenny though as I prefer the Mary Wells version.

  8. A couple of great 45's by Tyrone Davis

You keep me holding on (Dakar)

    I'll be right here (Dakar)

Tommy Soul also did a version of "I'll be right here" on Gaslight.

Anyone know which came out first ?

Take your pick the Tyrone Davis version at £5 or Tommy Soul at £500.

Thanks for the comments re Charlie Hodges and Madeleline & Monticellos.

  13. GREAT TUNE BUT £30.00 IS A BIT EXPENSIVE!!!

IF YOU LOOK ON MOST OF THE LARGER AMERICAN (NON SOUL) SITES YOU CAN PICK IT UP FOR $5.00!!!!

Sorry guys I think it's crap.

It's on the American (non soul) sites because it ain't soul.

This is the type of stuff that get's 70's soul a bad name.

  14. It's a regular play at The Caledonia Soul Club courtesy of Lenny Harkins. If you are prepared to wade through 14 hours of soul you might find it on one of the live sets I play on Reflections on Northern Soul check www.radiomagnetic.com/archive/rnb.php
