Sale fell through last time, so someone’s gonna get a pre-Christmas cracker! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSb_emMfsBI *** SOLD *** Jimmy Jones – Ain’t Nothin Wrong Makin Love The First Night – Conchillo £15 Jimmy’s got the horn and getting’ jiggy be on his mind, the dirty dog! Super smooth 70’s, probably danceable these days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPf7JyLm7qo *** SOLD *** 12. Jo Jo and the Outcast – Why Baby – Sound o Riffic £25 an awesome sweet ‘n deep wailer, another we used to reserve strictly for Deep Soul tapes back in the day but could get played out in today’s climate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw99Px-8t5w 13. The Lintons – Lost Love – Erica £10 deep, sweet, splendid cheapie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWMdWGj2_U4 1*** SOLD *** 4. Natural Four – Love’s So Wonderful – Curtom £10 vg+ scratched, with audible clicks and crackles, but playable and perennially in demand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep1UQ2vI1kM *** SOLD *** Natural Four – You Can’t Keep Running Away / You Bring Out The Best In Me – Curtom £18 now then, here’s one that needs turntable action. ‘RA’ is a groover in the Love’s So Wonderful mould, with what sounds like Bobby Womack’s distinctive guitar discretely in the background. ‘YCKRA’ is pure Leroy Hutson - wrote and produced by the great man but has his groove all over it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlMTWxKAAWk&list=RDdlMTWxKAAWk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIDmMY3nZY4 17. The Naturals – I Can’t Share You – Calla £15 my, oh my, a mellow lowrider killa, as they say in East LA (maybe). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsuNc6d7p68 18. Sugar Pie DeSanto – My Illusion – Soul Clock £35 got some attention this year, at considerably higher prices too. Moody, atmospheric, soulful midtempo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKaH5TBrJf T *** SOLD *** The Attractions – New Girl In The Neighbourhood / That Girl Is Mine – Bell £35 brilliant double sider I bought for the Northern dancer ‘That Girl’ way back in the day, but now it’s the sweet, sweet mid tempo of ‘New Girl’ that’s floating my boat. A few seconds in and we know our old pal Morris Chestnut is on the mic. Note this has a tiny crack in the run out groove, just a wee crack that doesn’t get as far as the music grooves, so does not affect play, but it does shave a good whack off the price https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LByxmkWNs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LByxmkWNswM Usual jive applies: • PM your interest, but please add a comment that the PM’s on the way • P&P is £8 for Special Delivery on Orders over £50; £3 for orders under, via 1st Class Signed For. 15. When I started selling up I got sound advice from an old pal, not to plug the ‘bigger’ items first, but concentrate on trying to shift the general collection and spice up the lists with occasional biggies and dead certs, to keep it interesting. I’ve pretty much stuck to that and done really well but there’s loads left - high end and collection builders - which are pretty much good stuff, yet I’m toiling to shift them!
  16. Thanks for the comments Chaps, good to see the post can stimulate some chat. Wish it would stimulate some bloody sales, though!
  17. ALDO'S ADVENT FIVES: 60’S NORTHERN FOR DISCERNING DJ’s Maybe this isn’t the wisest sales pitch, after all the recent chat about boring, play-safe DJ’s, too pussy to spin records outwith the same old, same old, but ‘tis the season of goodwill: I live in hope! All are in ex condition unless otherwise stated. All are jolly good and a worthy addition to any decent collection. YouTube clips are not my records, I've included them to let you hear how good these records are. The one's I'm selling are pictured. Please do read the T's & C's and the bottom if you want to buy something, thar lies important info... ***SOLD *** The Sweet – Got To have More Love – Smash £30 a tune that’s lay very much in the shadow of ‘Broken Heart Attack’ , so overlooked in fact that I’ve never seen or heard anyone even mention it, apart from a fella selling a copy on here recently. Like me, he couldn’t understand why such an out-and-out banger could have escaped attention https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLvwWQrXirY The Drifter – The Struggler – Steel Town £25 from the Stafford tape swapper circuit. Presumably not THE Drifters, this is a funny old song that starts off imploring us to have mercy on life’s unfortunates but finishes off giving ‘The Struggler’ in the title a right old slagging for being a wrong ‘un! Flits effortlessly between delicate mid tempo and horn driven stomper. Right good tackle this, on a reliable label https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F7V3PYK3Ys Charles Mintz – Since I Found You Girl – Up Look £35 Charlie was the voice of The Delegates of Soul and this is a similar sounding, feel-good uptempo dancer that’s criminally overlooked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNQ2m7vpLAc Jimmy Burns – Powerful Love / Giver Her To Me – Tip Top £80 ‘Powerful’ is a big, bold, bass ‘n brass driven dancer that oozes Chicago R&B swagger; ‘Give’ is an early-Impressions style mid tempo and a tidy wee record in it’s own right. A tough find, this one, seldom seen. As you can see in the pics, the label is pressed a little wonky, but just the label – the centre is dead on, and plays properly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTOWe7ZRFQE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11oY-a_4fkc Roscoe Robinson – How Much Pressure Do You Think I Can Stand – Wand £30 finishing as we started, with an inexplicably under-the-radar dancer from a familiar name on a big label. First heard this on a Manship 60’s newies tape in the early 80’s that had been recycled so many times it was barely audible and the track listing was long lost: it took me years to find out who it was by and longer still to track down a copy, I wasn’t disappointed. Great stuff! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JTJVRdqFaU Usual jive applies: • PM your interest, but please add a comment that the PM’s on the way • P&P is £8 for Special Delivery on Orders over £50; £3 for orders under, via 1st Class Signed For. 19. ALDO'S ADVENT FIVES: LATE 60'S/EARLY 70'S CROSSOVER TUNEAGE Busy time ahead, gonna fire out wee lists of 5 records of a particular style as and when I can. Crossover here; oldies, bangers, Stafford-y 60's, Oompah Funk, Acid Northern and Belgian Foghorn to follow... All are in ex condition unless otherwise stated. All are jolly good and a worthy addition to any decent collection. YouTube clips are not my records, I've included them to let you hear how good these records are. The one's I'm selling are pictured. Please do read the T's & C's and the bottom if want to buy something, thar lies important info... 1. Bobby Hutton - Lonely In Love / You're My Whole Reason – Phillips £75 his rarest and best after ‘Come See’, two big productions of mid tempo class that compliment Bobby’s delicate voice to a ‘T’. Significantly – ie 50% - cheaper than a certain ‘book price’… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq2LKmwMqFY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0Eo-yPg81M *** SOLD ***. Jimmy Braswell – This Time It’s Got To be For Real / Time Waits For No Man – Jar Val £60 gonna try listing this gem again, got lots of nice comments and ‘likes’ last time but no actual buyer! ‘This Time..’ is a feel good, horn driven dancer, while ‘ Time Waits..’ is fine deep/sweet soul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEeGbJX2hvg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahsltWx8Nf8 3.Jimmy Dotson – To Be Your Lover – Aar o Dot £20 a mere 20 squiddlies for this jaunty wee number. An ideal stocking filler (if you have bandy legs)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HIwG71Anfo 4. The Winstons – Color Him Father – Metromedia £25 oh, those lyrics! Not a dry eye in the house! But a real good mid tempo dancer, too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgrPgfoLCJM 5. The Bluesbusters – Love Is The Answer – Minit demo £55 LIDL price again here, and another that had lots of nods and winks from readers with good taste. The very same Blues Busters from Jamaica, revered for a catalog of ska and reggae classics, they also cut it as soul singers in fine style. Fine enough to earn a contract with a major and record in New York. ‘Love Is The Answer’ is a joy of a recording: uplifting, string laden uptempo, late 60’s Northern dancer. By no means an unknown, but a million miles from Top 500 tedium. Reckon you’re an enterprising DJ? Buy it, play it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN5M3aWFcoc Usual jive applies: • PM your interest, but please add a comment that the PM’s on the way • P&P is £8 for Special Delivery on Orders over £50; £3 for orders under, via 1st Class Signed For.
