  1. Hi Tena Welcome to Soul Source, and thank you for posting !! My fave 45 by Roy is his Delphi release of ' Very Strong On You' but he had lot's of excellent output over his career, which i'm sure members on here would love to learn more about.. With regards your collection of his items there may be some interest from the likes of @Ady Croasdell of Ace/Kent records here in the Uk. And if there are any tapes or acetates - including any unissued material, i'm certain there would be interested parties, and one's that would make proper payments of royalties etc.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ImPo7f4T88
  2. Left work early today, in order to get to the sorting office in time.. and confess to playing the Milton Bennett track non-stop for the past hour !! Absolute stunning track and one of the best 'New Old' releases E-V-E-R !!!! Defo a keeper.. That's for sure..
  3. Got to agree with that statement, Mick.. Only trouble is I got home, not to the said 45, but to a card from the postie telling me to go to the sorting office to collect !! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh !! Ah well, only another day to go
  4. Thats great news - but as I don't do facebook I wasn't aware of the situation. Pleased to say I also received a call from my brother-in-law just now to say his copy arrived this morning so pretty certain I can look forward to seeing mine when I get back home tonight.. Ooh.. It's like xmas all over again !!
  5. I'm not so much concerned about it turning up, but when something is advertised as being available from a stated date - and I pre-order, I wouldn't expect NOT to have some sort of heads-up if there was an issue in meeting the dates as detailed.. Or am I expecting too much ??? You wouldn't place an order, say with Amazon for example (other on-line retailers are available..) with a specified date of when to expect it, but then - when you don't receive the expected goods, and receive no correspondence or update, just sit back and wait until the vendor decides to send it out !! Would you !! As stated.. Not an issue !! But some sort of statement from the powers that be would be polite..
  6. Has anyone received their order for this 45 ?? Anyone heard of any problems resulting in a late despatch ?? As said previously things can go wrong outside of the control of the label, but it would be nice to be updated if there are issues..
  7. Have these been sent out yet @Sean Hampsey ?? I know there can be possible delays along the way, with the various aspects involved in getting a vinyl release out, but not heard anything to the contrary so thought I would ask the question
  8. Well if they are gonna be of the same calibre as the Mr Bennett then I CAN'T WAIT !! Bring 'Em On..
  9. I'm getting in on the act too.. and also ordered a copy for the brother-in-law.. That Milton Bennett track is awesome..
  10. So.. YOU'RE the one !!!
  11. I didn't pick up on the piss poor printing Steve.. Better put me specs on !!
  12. Cheers Russ.. That confirms it for me then (I think.. possibly.. maybe.. )
  13. Thought it may have been just me Steve.. but thats got to be a dodgy one.. surely ??
  14. Have you seen the size off the run out !! Bigger than the actual recorded grooves !! Is that real ?? I had one that sold early year2K but dont remember the run out being that big.. but - that was a long time ago..
  15. Good shout !! Juno already sold out !!!
  16. ALL SORTED NOW.. Thank You Okay.. Who's gonna sell me a (Ex at least) copy of 'Good Things..' at a realistic rate? PM's please.. Out of interest.. does anyone know if the issue or demo is rarest, or no difference? TIA
  17. Hi All.. Anyone have a decent copy they are prepared to let go please?? Please pm with grade & price TIA
  18. You do understand Benji.. but it's POTENTIALLY a music publishers acetate. The labels are certainly real, as is that 'smell' you notice with 'aged' acetates.. But there are a few questions that need to be uncovered before determining it to be the 'real deal' - e.g. the flip to Stronger Than Me is not only a completely different artist (although the track title is typed on the label there are no artist identifiers), its a mid 70's recording, which did see release in both Germany & Italy and features a flip by the same artist.. Hope all that makes sense I'm currently awaiting feedback from a couple of people that (hopefully) can throw a bit more light on things, or information that would at least negate some of the possible scenareos surrounding this particular acetate - which initself would help in determining the facts behind it
  19. Thanks for your post @Davlee That is very interesting 'cos both sides of the acetate I mention are RCA recordings - the fip to 'Stronger Than Me' actually seeing a 7" release in both Italy and Germany in the mid 70's - but it is a different artist altogether There's a story here somewhere.. just got to first get all the pieces of the puzzle, then try to put them together and hopefully see a definitive answer
  20. Rufus Lumley 'Stronger Than Me'.. Obviously, this was an LP only track - other than a monarch test pressing Mr Manship posted on You Tube in 2012 Now then.. does anyone have any info concerning a potential UK release around 1976/77 !?! On information gleened thus far it points to at least a two-sided uk music publishers acetatate being produced, possibly something to do with Magnet Records? but doesn't look it got past the acetate stage.. Anyone ???? 'Cos I'm really intrigued as to the why's and wherefore's, and to whether the acetate is actually real (the labels and smell certainly are).. Fingers
  21. Surely the rights owner would also have owned the tapes ?? If that were the case.. then the new owner can do as they please ?? Pure speculation on my part by the way, so feel free to cut my post to pieces
  22. My fave JW track and one i've championed for years.. LP only so far as i'm aware unless it got an obscure foreign 45 release 'Everything is gonna be fine' - the note he hits at the end of the track is simply outrageous, and manages to send shivers down my spine each and everytime I hear it, Pure Magic !!
  23. See Lenny.. Soemetimes you ARE right
