A wee mini reminder for you all: This Friday, 12th April, sees Scenesvilles next bash at the Camden Centre, Euston Road, London. The night runs 9pm-2am&costs £8 in, or £9 if you aint a member, so get your memberships in if you fancy coming along and save that quid. The venues an absolute corker (ask anybody who went last time) and this time well have some of the things people asked us about last time in place, including a music link to the bar so you can dash off in mid-sentence when your favourite sound comes on, and something to sort out that funny thing we had with the sound last time. The bars nice and cheap (normal pub prices, I believe) and there are really ace toilets there, too. Were superbly placed for all the Motorways and A-roads and theres acres of parking within a minutes walk of the venue. Few bits on things going on round North Wales way Good night at Bangor Social Club Soul Nite last nite, some quality something for everyone stuff thrown out by the guest djs. More details including top plays hopefully soon Broughton Soul Nite on tonight, with Soul Sam as one of the resident DJs and also the plush sirrondings of the venue, both of these factors to me gives this place a well unique feel around these parts. Recommended. Heard Soul Sam is on at the Carlton Pub in Llandudno this Sunday Nite, format is a main street pub open to all, no admission charges, when you walk in Soul Sam is in the corner laying out his usual quality all era soul, a enjoyable mellow, laid back and soulful Sunday nite at the pub. Next Llandudno Soul Nite at the Rugby Club is on in two weeks time Friday the 19th April being the night. Guest DJs being Paul Baldwin and Nigel Shaw along with regular culprits Mark Morgan and Mike H/Spade 8-late, 3 quid in Heard also on that night is a package soul thing at the main theatre in Llandudno featuring Edwin Starr and others, if doing that a top tip would be once it finishes to get over to the Rugby Club for a few cheap drinks and some top sounds to finish nite off. Dublin Niter last weekend - been told it was well "mental", apparently the weekend saw groups of 20+ North West/Wales soulies roaming all over the Emerald Isle. Just another quick line to let everyone know that we have just confirmed 3 nights at the large Plinston Hal in Letchworth, Herts for evenings of Rare Soul, spanning all eras with the focus on current monsters, forgotten oldies/6Ts Newies, class crossover/modern goodies and a dollop of rocking R&B to get even the most jaded palette salavating!!!!!! Regular DJs Hammy (Kempston Rovers); Fingers (Turntable Records); Taffy (local Godfather) and TheBigO (Collector/dancer)/Ab (Top man) will be joined by top guest DJs T.B.C. Doors open 8pm-2am and entry will be £5 ticket (available from the box office) or £6 OTD.
