https://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~groove45/list/d.html a japenese collector has it listed at above as think its a list of actual 45s he has and not a sales/wants reference list (think once emailed him bout selling) it could sort of prove exitance if thats what after?

as have a fair few "never completly happy with answers" questions rolling around head, thought attempt to give one or two another run out to see if can fianlly "put them to bed" may have read this before , apoligies if have mucker picked up a emidisc from record fair in london entitled the drifter by stuart smith compared it to all known versions, myself borrowed it, played it out a few times, after a few red herrings some accidental , one intentional (cheers mate!) managed think after a long search 100% to rule out any of the known versions. Only history found is was told is that when Long John Baldry did his version, he heard it first off a unknown artist on acetate Reckon track is different enough than others to be worthwhile As mucker is due back from iraq very soon, and once promised to try find all out for him, thought make a last ever determined effort this time using soul source to get any info for him , what so ever on history, or the artist, how known, other copies, and so on ...anyone help? even a "nah never heard of it" would be useful from you uk experts cheers mike

sure once read a lengthy list of uk cover versions, not sure where and when how good or if in computer format, anyone see it, have it?? odd decent cover versions stuff jerry butlers version of brother billy's right track, unreleased but worth a dig and a listen if havent heardl, think it was recorded earlier but sounds like it was later, to me has what call a 100 club feel ,released on a us mecrury jerry butler cd think someone out of public service should cut loads of dubs of this and have them stored at events, so that when that random urge unexplainly felt by djs to play right track this would be handed to them open the door to your heart - art earnsley and fabulous echoes really rate this excellent uptempo version, though someone once had the audacity to vote this is in a worse ever top 5 drifter cover see later post too hot for serious thinking here's some off top of head random stuff oddball cover but different versions james phelps cheap 45 often seen in boxes (names gone? has 5 in title?) has a version of "i do the best i can" on flip theres a 80s First Choice 45 which has a ballad vesion of "House For sale" austrilain 60s gargage/beat version of Hopes Dreams and Tombstones 70s version of frank beverly "want to..."rouser 45 on maze lp eddie floyd Thats All - is a version of Nat king cole hit one that knocked me off my feet when heard it the first time recently- was the legendary (in the hughes household) 70s feel good track Laso-Laso Square was redone by Joe Battan as Continental Square Dance!! didnt know what too expect when played it but certainly didnt expect a reworking of laso square will upload if anyone ex-barb heads wants a hear cover version related - every version of color me father has a decent flip? cover poll garland green or john edwards version of " aint that good enough" ? john edwards every time for me! cover question when tried to name every version of "aint no big thing" on here think we only got to 20 mark, question is does that make it the most covered "northern connected" track ?? any other possible contendors?

while there's one or two articles on web about matrixs etc doesn't seem to be a lengthy all in article anywhere if all who got any info, scraps , trivia, articles on the whole subject could throw it up here, then could have a go at putting together a worthwhile article that would cover all the stuff and be a usefull reference/info for all be them someone fresh to vinyl bug or the seasoned vinyl freak

10 % ? mmmm just dig out a bar "dance with me" cd from 97, now when first got it my thoughts on first play were that 2 or 3 tracks that fitted in with my idea of soul out of the 30 , while rest didnt come close after reading Micks post just revisted cd and had a quick skip thru tracks, see what sounded like now, and how many could be classed as acceptable, interesting as now seems theres a fair few more boderline, which could say may possibly work at right place right time right dj, while when a fair few years ago would have said no way. dunno what it means, wider ranges? exposure to some plays having an effect, just listening to what seems a female track that owes a lot to pentagons "i wonder" or other way around, and quite enjoyable!

karen got in touch via contact us and asked to pass on the following.... mike karenb submitted the following Information: Comments Hi Mike, sorry I've forgotten my username and password!! (I know brain like a sieve springs to mind!) Help please. Want to reply to Tricker's dance classes. "I think no one should slag down Trickster for his dance classes, if people want to go, they'll go, if they don't, they don't, simple. I know dance classes can be a touchy theme on the northern scene but then again, he's not hurting anyone, and as a lot of people know I DO speak my mind! Karen B (by the way I'm going to try and make it whether I need them or not!)

Just so aware , often post lists that come up thru discussion lists. email sends, as reckon may be of interest and also as whole site is searchable it can act as a reference lter on Usually the formating is "as is" as just a case of cutting and pasting, so they may show the ravages of going thru various mail systems Dunno what orig format was of this one, it does look like it was exported via a database, but it may have been sent out in a better format and corrupted. So just thought mention as chance not the list senders fault
