Just out of interest as was mentioned in earlier threads about the current batch of releases using the soul city label design and name and their connection with the original label In one thread it was mentioned that someone was saying that the rights were bought off David Nathan to use the logo, name etc This appears not to be the case and no connection what so ever with him
-
what do these "new" soulcity 45s look like? same logo design? if Dave Godin got nought to do with them, then strikes me as fair bit "out of order" if that is indeed the case

allright Derek sounds a good one just mention that have added show to the "revamped event guide" ( which now has a radio/tv category) as well for you as also a good chance to plug the new features of guide............ the front page event bit is more dynamic, which means that it counts down automatically as before but, it also now shows when less than 24 hrs to go the starting time and also... once it hits the "start time" of event/show it shows that the actual show/event is "NOW ON" idea being it works as a reminder for soul freaks like meself with memory like a teabag so if reading this and involved or know of decent soul radio/tv going ons , adding to guide could be a good thing for soul fans visiting (plus as guide syndicated to other web sites, available thru mobile phone, emailed to lists, etc etc cant do show any harm)

allright brett hows the latin going:) due to amount of traffic the site had to have a major move (with no notice) and some of the stuff like forum had to have a upgrade along the way It means that some stuff, like above still needs to be tweaked once major stuff 100% at moment all apart from the photo gallery seems to be working fine, if spot any other "odd" bits let us know hopefully this "final" move means a end to the probs have had with tring to keep within bandwidth limits and from now on things be better, more organised,......... hopefully:) ta for letting us know mike

Sort of suprised that has been no mention of his passing on Clip of his early days before "you and I" may be of interest if not read before and added that below, and also there is a great 5 part recent interview with him up on allhiphop.com here
-
a loose connnection but think maybe worth a mention Barbara Lynn Story written by a certain Dave Rimmer for skm from last century is up at
-
go and read the booting bootlegs thread says it all
-
there's no argument is there? surely no one can justify such a dishonest way of doing things
-
the "why boot it" used to throw me a bit , as used to think that along lines case of its so common it couldnt have beent booted, or in case of original ,its been booted so it must be rare what didnt realise at time was that its nothing to do with above, its........ just pure greed its sad but true, why bother buying 45s to sell on when can make them yourself
-
at the moment any user should be able to throw up, its mp3 only and while tested ok here, uploading not really tested with other setups so if got a spare min, feel free to give it a run
-
cheers for info and audio Chalky myself was only aware of the two groups things on label, hence why it stuck and then urge to hear it when reminded bout it have you still got that mp3 of s t handy, if y could u email it us as just wanna test the sound thing with mp3s of diff source cheers mike

just thought adlibs which rate, seemed a bit outta place amongst the recycled cannon fodder always grouped it with timeless legends, hence the connection, did think wasn;t that well known, but could be wrong of course:) on soul city, anyone pass on whos behind the relaunch ta mike

may have noticed that been messing round with a new event guide one of improvements is that the events can be grouped into types, nothing jaw dropping i know but as the front page is now "dynamic-ish" - (whilst an event is on it actually displays that it is on at that time) was thinking that when mixed in with above could be worthwhile (translated - if something is actually on at that moment in time it tells you on front page ) reckon could be usefull and worthwhile, espically for myself with a sieve like memory, as not for just events, but for soul connected radio or tv stuff so a shout for soul radio details to save time and so that can be 100% certain that show details up to date asking if could pass on date /time/ link/freq if normal radio brief description frequency ta mike
