think a "number of known copies field" may be interesting espically when in single figures anyway, moving it on as said reckon have the bones already here if still interest will knock out a "early" version, so can see what mean and can pass on view yep?

on Jamiacian soul took liberty of clipping info from this g site https://www.trinity.unimelb.edu.au/~mwilliam/bj/ also has jamaican charts. playlists and much more along with links to sites The Blues Busters (Phillip "Boasy" James and Lloyd "Lloydie" Osbourne) Influences/comparisons: Sam Cooke, Eddie & Ernie, Sam & Dave Male vocal duo whose gospel-influenced call-and-response Soul pre-dates Sam and Dave. Toured the USA in 1964 with Ska band, Byron Lee & The Dragonaires and supported Sam Cooke and The Drifters on their Jamaican tours. Recorded primarily in Southern Soul style with some Ska. Recorded in New York under the auspices of Atlantic Records (Tom Dowd engineer, produced by Jerry Wexler?) and Kingston. Probably not the same "Blues Busters" who recorded for New-York based Shout label. Covered many Soul hits of the day including songs by The Impressions ('Amen'), Arthur Alexander ('Pretty Girls') and The Temptations ('My Girl'). Their reprise of 'That's Heaven To Me' is arguably superior to Sam Cooke's original. Crucial cuts: 'Soon You'll Be Gone', 'Behold', 'That's Heaven To Me'.

it does to me why do you say that? forum has always been open to all to read

think all are aware that the forum is open to all to read ! far better to discuss such stuff in open than behind closed doors

on above it is something similar been working towards using the "sounds" format so the basic format of something like this is already available which could be expanded could use the forum format - but itis very inflexiable and uncustomnable could use a seperate sytem - disadantages - none of below or could use current system - this would be ideal imo as all the other features suchj as comment system, usernames, search and rest are all ready present and built in if use adapted current sounds format it would offer the folowing each track could have the following unlimited text desc sound clip unlimted pics each track can be commented on - thus all can eaily add text updates etc rated database based as database it can be searchable and can be listed by various cats at moment tracks can be listed by title date rating popularity user who submitted these fields can be added to include possibility of by label, value, booted, etc and thusthen could be listed as well also can use categorys in various ways - user friendly anyone can submit (needs approval) anyone can add comment content tracks can be either submitted single - time consuming or can be submitted in batch either via sound clips or text just added 100 odd tracks to demo - inital content setup is thus easy and also rights can be given to a group to edit/add/improve the inital text description soul fans - as said anyone (member/non-member) can submit, comment or read a group can be set up to have overall control of submissions and such the overall currently the sounds and to a lesser degree the flyer gallery can give a basic idea of one way it could work - bear in mind the design and setup is set up to a slighty different use -stuff like the auto-stream, graphics, layoutwhich can be altered have a look at the single sounds section here https://www.soul-source.co.uk/myalbum...ewcat.php?cid=1 a example with description scans added and comments https://www.soul-source.co.uk/myalbum...p?lid=135&cid=1 a no -soundclip example https://www.soul-source.co.uk/myalbum...p?lid=186&cid=1 site view - is this is the easiest solution to set up and use as said the basic bones of it are already avail, its just the fleshing out (content) that is the main thing to sort let us know views/thoughts?

As those who been knocking around here for a while may have noticed, the news/articles side of site has over the last couple of years been a right old laugh. After many trials to find the best system and many false dawns have finally reached a unheard of stage All news/articles/reviews (about 1400) are in same place, in correct sections and viewable to all. While not 100% - some earlier articles need reformating and some authors and possibly some of the important articles need jigging, its up and running and anyone can submit to any section ( all at moment need approval before publication though)

Georgia R&B and Soul Records This site has been up in the Reference Section Soul Source links section for a fair while nowand at the time was a worthy addition as was impressed by the amount of info and the way it was delivered. Unfortunately with the amount of quality soul related web sites it means that sometimes there is just not enough hours in a day to get round all the quality ones regularly. Often its not till something specfic actually drags you to the site (in this case the "delphi" label listing ) that you catch up with fresh content and are reminded what a worthwhile site it is All listings are easily navigated, one click away from the home page index, plus other content such as an lengthy article by Brian Proust, a label gallery which contains over 100 plus scans, a review section featuring reviews of related cds, other soul website links and more A main requirement of any worthwhile site is that it is updated regular, and in this case it is and its very regular almost weekly, all the update details are listed, as well, so if a regular visitor you can get to the fresh meat quick and easy. The only minor criticism (and I stress the word minor) is the use of anti-right mouse click script ( cant really see the point of this nowadays, in old days it may have protected content, but nowadays doesnt really do much protecting and does affect the user friendly feel of site. Get rid would be my shout) Final view: It was a worthy entry in the weblinks reference section on Soul Source here, and now its a .... updated worthy entry! Check it out recommended! site trivia: Always after news of fresh or updated similar sites such as this and sure so are many other soul fans, so any pas ons of info be more than welcome Just some of the Georgia labels that are listed... 1-2-3 3-P Albradella AP ARC Arco Augusta Aware Aztec Bad Bahith Baja Big C Bluesong Boblo Bruboon Bullet Capricorn Casmer Cancer Chant Delmar Delphi Delta Ltd Demin-Kalo Dove Ebony Em-Jay Encore Esprit Eureka EWS/Punchy Fada F.F.A. trick with the posts on here is as John says hitting the right button in first place and then the bracket. each bracket in post formats text etc, but! each bracket must be in a pair this is how you would see post before posting this would display this in bold
this in quote
this in red
and this is how it would display once submitted - there is a preview function this would display this in bold this in red easiest way is to highlight text and then click the button above no big thing really as usually can spot what is quoted and so on, help file can help, but there are a few outta date bits if wanna test/play - use the freebasing room - and mark post test -delete

yeah, what seen/heard , sold from original and those close to it sources as a first ever issue, but sure was always clear that a recent release, even though it has to be with oxford knights and others mentioned, myself always avoid ought with a sniff of "dodgyness" and gotta say that on same lines will also avoid any dealer who would be happy to flog it to me always jacks me off way some people play the vinyl selling game, sure its a wide open game and buyer beware and all that, but imo no one has any right to rip any other soul fan off dishonestly, and always amazes me that people who if short changed at a pub would kick up a right fuss, seem to accept getting robbed if its vinyl
-
Was mentioned before, and as while sorting old reviews out from a few years back , thought throw up. As come across review, where mentions that Kev Murphy was playing it, and says off a" offical" acetate Now refreshed memory reckons that had a quick gander at it, and while didnt get many details it did look like "offical" acetate to me at time, if you know what I mean (aged and printed/typed)

Music icon Ray Charles dies Tap to view this Soul Source News/Article in full

Posted up originally in forum by Supercorsa Just seen on BT homepage that Ray Charles has passed away. Another Legend leaves us. Music icon Ray Charles dies LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Ray Charles, who overcame childhood poverty, blindness and heroin addiction to help create soul music and become one of Americas most beloved singers, has died at the age of 73 after a long fight with liver disease, his spokesman says. Charles died at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday at his Beverly Hills home, the singers longtime publicist Jerry Digney said. Family members and co-workers of the legendary entertainer were with him when he died. In one of his last public appearances, the singer-songwriter turned up in a motorised wheelchair for a ceremony in April conferring historic-building status on his longtime recording complex in a rundown part of Los Angeles. Visibly frail, his voice reduced to a whisper, Charles demeanour then was a far cry from the wildly enthusiastic performer known to millions of fans for more than half a century. A prolific musician, Charles has been off the road for almost a year so that he could undergo a hip replacement. Unspecified complications forced him to scrap plans to resume touring with a performance in New York last month. Charles, a pioneer of soul music whose biggest hits include "Georgia on My Mind" and "Hit the Road Jack", was a multiple Grammy winner who had been blind since the age of 6. While known as "The Genius of Soul", Charles music included standards, R&B, country pop and jazz.

Yet again another story concerning people who just dont give a **** for anyone else. Many people will be aware that there are several soul fans, who go round photographing going ons at soul events.
