  14. Grab of news/thanks from the Motown Legends Website on recent Motown Legends Weekender The Motown Legends Weekender took place at the Hemsby Holiday Centre at GREAT YARMOUTH during the weekend 29th October - 1st November (Friday to Monday) 2004 "One big party at Pontins with our Motown Legends Weekend. Top line artistes, top DJs and late bars." is how it was billed and would say its fair to say that it lived up to that 14th to 17th October 2005 are the dates for your calendar for next years event! MOTOWN LEGENDS SOUL WEEKENDER 2004 The organisers and staff at Pontins, Hemsby, Great Yarmouth would like to say a big thank you to all the people who made last weekends event such an overwhelming success. We had FIVE stunning performances over the 3 nights of the weekend. Miracles member Tee Turner got the crowd going with his opening set on Friday evening he should have sung "Sharp dressed man" ! and what a voice this guy has, watch out for his solo CD release. The Velvelettes were "really saying something" with their set on Friday evening getting the crowd of 1,300 people dancing and swaying to their classic Motown tune's. UK Motown had released their new compilation CD to coincide with their UK visit. Well worth checking out. The Miracles were absolutely superb on the Saturday evening and with Sidney taking Smokey Robinson's lead vocal part if you closed your eyes you were taken back 30 or 40 years to the Heyday of Motown's golden era. Tee, Dave and original member bobby Rogers kept the audience spell bound after they sang hit after hit. Again immaculately dressed and moving on the stage in harmony a truly wonderful performance. On to Sunday night and Special guest original Crystals member Lala Brooks joined with our main man Richie Pitts to sing an outstanding set of classic soul tunes. For me the outstanding "Show and tell" and duet with Lala on "Back together again" were show stoppers. A radio show for BBC Radio 2 was recorded live in the Queen Vic by broadcaster Bob McClure "The Lost&Found show" , we will let you know when that is going to be on air, All in all a great weekend, we are coming back to great Yarmouth in 2005 over the weekend of 14th to 17th October and you can reserve your place's now either by booking on line at www.pontins.com or telephone 0870 604 5606 from http://www.soul-weekenders.co.uk
  15. think resolved,if try it now, should work , let us know if does thanks for passing on mike
  16. heres some scraggs review of it that made me laugh anyway - you must have done review of it sometime pete John Andrews and the Lonely Ones, "It's Just Love" (Parlophone, 1966) A B-side of a northern-soul one-off called "A Rose Growing in the Ruins," "It's Just Love" is apocalypse-paranoia bandwagoneering at its most timely, except we're supposed to (or maybe not) buy Andrews' theory that an undefined feeling in the air (known for all intents and purposes as "it") that's like "a flame" or "witchcraft" can't be a heatwave (so SHUT UP MARTHA REEVES), cuz it's just, um, love, and because it's love and not the rising tide of social protest that's making everyone nuts, Andrews' news is that much easier to dance to. from https://southsidecallbox.com/threatening_01_29_03.html this is the kent site that had info on group while back https://www.kentgigs.com/musicbiz/Bands.html only had a quick scan now but seems lot more conyent on them and loads other similar groups
  17. nah - but going by availbility would have thought could be high theres a web site devoted to them somewhere - from kent , folkstone ? memory says
  18. martin t (on here) was after this for a fair while b4 getting one so should be able to help with a current-ish price memory says its a great track, but can't remember how it goes now
  19. lonnie hill - cold winter in ghetto - without the kids version being one that dig out round then how many days?
  20. mmm yep maybe, though not all mixes were as formulaised round them days, though posibly were and its me ears at fault possible interesting future thread - lesser known 12 inch versions or ones where 12 version was/is so much better or other way round choice is endless
  21. see its 7 plus mins anyone pass on hows it compare ? a few more interesting scans up there https://www.soulmusiccollector.com/
  22. nah.. sure clocked scan of one on web somewhere , cause "if you cant..." was there as well, will redig later on
  23. enjoy both versions though reckon a lot depends on where you hear it and how dj leads up to it for it to work well .... maybe
  24. always prefered part 2 of this one seemed to work better for me
