All three have gone on to become collectors items with fans all over the world fetching high prices on internet auction sites and in specialist used vinyl shops.     Important news from the soulsville duo on their event in Leeds concerning the Oct 7th event and possibly future events as well. Read more for full info Hi folks, We've been having one or two problems behind the scenes with the licencing at Baby Jupiter. The upshot is that the October 7th night will only run until 11:30pm, not the usual 2:00am. Unfortunately we've had to let Gareth Sweeney down again (For the third time!!), and he'll be with us in the new year. Sorry Gareth! Pat&John are both away with family and work commitments respectively. So anyone making the trip will have to make do with Myself, Rich Buckley and a Mr Mark Bicknell. We're gonna get started a bit earlier to make it a bit of a night, and would ask anyone who's coming to get there that little bit earlier. The 29th of October sees Soulsville's 2nd Anniversary. Again, we may be affected by the licence problems. If that is the case, then the All-Dayer will start at 11:30am and finish at 11:30pm. If the matter is resolved, it'll be 2:00pm start and 2:00am finish as advertised. There is NO event in November, and December is still under discussion. Sorry for any inconvenience, but sometimes things happen over which we have no control. If anyone needs any further info, please do not hesitate to contact either me or Rich. Your name brent hosier Company arcania int'l Location virginia, usa Comments Hi, I see that Dean Anderson played "I'm The Man" by Billy Soultree at the Top Deck on Sept 3rd. This is the first reference to it I've found. I've had it for a number of years but have never spoken to any collector that knew the record. I believe it is a Southern recording, pressed in Nashville and may have had it's origins here in Virginia where I found it. I'll look into putting it on another edition of Ol' Virginia Soul, a series that I put out, if more is revealed. Can anyone help? Thanks, Brent

    Have had a few emails/pms about the gallery errors Have been posting site stuff in the "site stuff" bit of forum /index.php?showforum=8 as it says there - the gallery is awaiting a final upgrade, so its not 100% at moment way the site works, means that had choice of closing it untill 100% or having it open and still available with faults as now. hopefully be resolved soonest

    boring old often repeated one for me is have the only issue of voices inc - thinkin on columbia 45 (unless any turned up in last year or so) - up for grabs if wanna make us a healthy cash offer and supply us with demo as part of deal, can guess why it got booked at 500 but unless others turned up looking for more mucker andy d once lent me a 60s emi disc picked up at a london record fair version of The Drifter by Stuart Smith- after a long time searching, and a couple of jokers giving us duff info f***king hunt up. - finaly proved that it was not the same as any other known version and so maybe unique - tell you what those jokers with duff info really pissed me off - of course such a discovery caused the usual stir of interest when its just a ordinary joes who does it, shame like cause it was a good version, different enough to play, and did sound good when I played it out Know that the Late Long John Baldry did say in a interview ( think was done Benji) that he first heard the track before recording his version from a acetate by a unknown artist, so possibly the same one so maybe some sort of audtion cut, dunno what was standard practice in uk then on copies cut,so amybe good chance of one of, anyone up to speed? Irish greg and his Judy Freeman test lp - feat orig powerfull mix of hold on - still only one known copy?. if so ? must be one of rarest lp around yeah?
