What Happened To The Section Where You Send Your Sounds Up To
Mike replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
cheers Ian and Craig for passing info on just so aware the sounds thing been delayed cause of tech stuff going on in background, and at moment is sort of stuck between two places not very efficent, but by the end of this week it and all other site stuff should be in a better condition thanks mike -
may have been confused about that 70s lp being jaggerz - ( funny enough they do a cover of your avitar scan "I never forget you" on the lp i thought it was) other version must have meant was by the ex-lead singer of yer midniters on a recent release can hear it here https://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/...e+Lost+Time.htm also feats the "open the door..." mentioned a day ago and "it never be over for me"

Sad News Nige Shaw RIP was: Well Known Soul Sourcer Not To Well
Mike replied to Nige Brown's topic in All About the SOUL
Good to read you posting Nige, hope your recovery goes fast and well just shout if you need anything, mags, cds or ought on forum you can read all the forum posts via most modern mobile phones there's a wap site at m.soul-source.co.uk which is a bit clunky but can read all public posts dunno score on phones in hospitals but may be an option if havent got a clue how to get internet on phone get someone to post your mobile make and will see if can get a easy how to guide and send it ya anyway best to you Nige mike bit from other post for info as said can read all public forums, can also browse members albums, read old news and articles, view event guide, view flyers havent had a lot of feedback on this prt of site, and so not much improvements have been done however can add features such as posting, mp3s etc etc, but need to be aware just what demand is -
havent seen it , does it come up the performance Ion gave in that cameo in those axa adverts know one current on the up and up dj recently had a fairly big role in episode of casualty said ok when I asked if ok to mention, so if dont know Paul Sadot was the man cant wait to see that on a flyer under his name other great moments in northern soul meida moments - keb darges expresion change, dunno what you call it the opposite of a grin? his face sort of shifts downwards in the film Blue Juice get your on back on a remixer scene Russ Winstanley on breakfast tv - something that involved slimming but recieved critical acclaim for the "pie in a bab/bearn roll" scene, still banned in 27 countires Mavis in 70s Corrination Street, sorting out the record racks in Cabin, eagle eyed soul soap freaks, spotted amongst all the usual corner shop titles being put up , a very much in demand at the time Lp Rollie Polies on Les Dawson singing "put your loving arms around ..." whats her name on the word , her descrption of northern soulies being people who look like they came to fix your washing machine was so ahead of its time - and some say played a big part in the recent fashion craze which say the trendist djs using £ 9.99 B&Q toolboxes as record boxes and in the spirt of a c4 "tvs greatest northen soul moments" programme we will return after the break with the rest of the rundown feel free to add more!!!! no boring whats her name played a whore in easy rider bits though , keep them uk based and not very worthwile if you can

Candi Staton: That heart still runs free A career marked by alcoholism, abuse and some great music. Preview of a interview where Gavin Martin talks to Candi Staton Published: 06 April 2006 Eating her lunch in the lobby of the Holiday Inn in Camden, north London, Candi Staton - the 63-year-old survivor, heroine and sexual avenger of American deep soul - has made herself at home. Staton is a small, voluptuous woman, with the vitality you'd hope for in the lady famed for "Young Hearts Run Free", a British hit three times over. That's a distinction shared by her most recent chart entry, "You Got the Love", a collaboration with The Source. She's had her struggles, but her new album, His Hands, shows that her voice is still a marvel of brooding, quivering intensity. As she talks, her eyes sparkle; she speaks in warm, husky tones, full of zest, as she pours out her life story. Canzata Maria Staton was born in 1943 in Hanceville, Alabama - just in time to live through the pre-Civil Rights days of supremacist terror. "I was always afraid. A black man near us was castrated. I was worried for my brothers," she says. "With my own eyes, I've seen the Ku-Klux-Klan coming through our neighbourhood, carrying torches, with the white sheets on. I was frightened all the time............... .............. may not sing the cheating songs any more, but music is still her refuge. "It was an escape when I was a child. I'd get lost in song, listening to the radio, and when the blues and gospel stations stopped, the country stations came on. I loved it all. But I never wanted to sound like anyone else. If I felt I was like Aretha or Gladys Knight, I'd quickly go back into myself and pull out me. I wanted to find my own expression in song; that's why I always stuck with me....... link to the full article (checked 2015) http://news.independent.co.uk/people/profiles/article356100.ece

there is another lp its a soundtrack of a off broadway 1968 play - The Believers - The Black Experience In Song wrote and performed by voices inc African sequence -- Believers' chants -- Believers' lament -- Drum solo -- This old ship -- Where shall I go? -- What shall I believe in now? -- Field hollers and work songs -- What shall I believe in Now? -- He's got the whole world in his hands -- Jesus, the light of the world -- Sermon: The life of Peter -- I turn to Jesus -- I'm so glad -- I just got in the city -- City blues -- You never really know -- Naked foot -- Early on morning blues -- Daily buzz -- Children's games -- School don't mean a damn thing -- I'm gonna do my thing -- Where do I go from here -- Burn this town -- Learn to love -- Finale. not sure like, but going by above seems that voices inc were more of a cast thing than group and so maybe the french lp may be feasible as may have been put on there ? on "thinkin'" Chalky pointed out that it is actually based on a coasters song called searching
