77 think Baz memory says thing with James Wells was released at the time after criticsm of some of his recent releases he proclaimed in one of the mags that he was no longer gonna do any northern style/influenced tracks Funny enough it turned out his first nothing to do with northern release after this which believe was James Wells was then picked up northern wise and became one of his biggest well recieved northern releases

email pass on Your name Jerry George Comments i've been searching for a song i heard in the Chicago area around 1966, 1967. Don't know the name of the song or the artist but the lyrics that are haunting me go like this, " I Know When A Boy Meets A Girl, His Old (Ole) Heart Begins To Jump And Whirl" If you could help me fine the actual title or artist for this song I would be forever grateful. Thank You Submitted by: Guest

Manchester local websites are always worth a check every now and again as often feature a wide varied range of soul related features Latest one is another regarding the Twisted Wheel, features a brief moan (for want of a better word) about how no film record of the Twisted Wheel means that Wigan gets all the mentions nowadays in mainstream media, a lookback at those days and a quick catch up on todays ocurances, quite a lengthy one as well. Worth a trip over there to read the full page, the link is at bottom here's a brief couple of quotes... If Pete Roberts had his way there would be an official heritage plaque erected outside his beloved Twisted Wheel club."Manchester's not interested. They don't know what they've got here," he grumbles of the city council. But then Roberts - a teen regular at the club, and now its promoter and DJ - knows full well why the Twisted Wheel's heyday will remain forever shrouded in the mists of time. ...The black American artists who worked the Wheel could not even eat in 'white' restaurants in their homeland, yet here we used to lift them up in the air and carry them to the stage," says Roberts. "They couldn't believe the reception they got from a white audience." But it was the records which were the Wheel's enduring stars. While clubs in London played the familiar soul songs from the Tamla Motown, Stax and Atlantic labels, merchant seamen came to Liverpool with American rare grooves - records you could not buy in British shops - fuelling a distinctly northern underground soul scene..... Article on Manchester Evening News Site More Twisted Wheel news and articles along with discussion can be found on Soul Source by the site wide search feature! see top for search box! Soul Source is always after news on any soul related articles you are aware of, be it as a writer or involved or even if just one you stumbled across on your web travels Easy to pass on....

If so can they inform him that someone has been doing their best to pass themseleves of as him posting up under two false accounts . Not only have they adopted his style of posting, they have also been flooding the event guide with daily vip radio adverts, biggest and best club night stuff, and also been sending kev robert style pms to members and posting obvious events posts both accounts that have been doing this have been deleted, sad to see people doing such things please pass on to Kev that will do my best to ensure it doesnt happen again thanks mike
