Things still moving onwards with refosoul All members should now be able to edit any clips posted by themseleves to do so you need to goto the clips refosoul page eg not the forum or the popup but the main refosoul page (a link is posted on teh forum and in the popup player) and then click on the edit tag (it is under the main banner when on the clip page note this does not effect the forum posts (you need to edit that to change any info) uses: can change the clip you uploaded -note must tick the delete of one up (it may be easier to delete the whole refosoul clip) can change the title, label, etc if mistakes or if not added when posted can change the tags/cats - eg if you wanted a track listed under say "radio" then can go back and change the tag or cat can add/change the image can delete the whole clip and info - hit delete at bottom tested but if do get any problems with uploading or editing then please post up so aware

maybe of interest to some feat Colin Curtis amongst others grab below link https://www.northerncomfort.co.uk/2008/08/2...tiveaudioworks/ 4pm to 3am Saturday August 30th - just over a week to go! None of these DJ's should need any introduction, but just in case you don't know who we're talking about: Greg Wilson, who'll be hosting the event, was a major underground figure from back in the day - the first DJ to mix live on UK TV. Remembered for his cutting-edge Electro-Funk nights in the early 80's at Legends and Wigan Pier, his groundbreaking mixes on Piccadilly Radio, and for his pioneering role at The Hacienda way back in '83. Made a hugely successful return to DJing in the past 5 years after a 2 decade hiatus, and now appears at clubs and events throughout the world. Colin Curtis is one of the most respected UK DJ's of all. He played a key role in the development of not just one, but three major dance movements here in Britain - Northern Soul, Jazz-Funk and House, playing at a whole spectrum of influential venues in the North and Midlands, including Blackpool Mecca, The Ritz, Rafters, Cassinellis, The Powerhouse, Rock City, The Locarno, Berlin, The Playpen and Legends. Between 1978 and 1986, Mike Shaft's Piccadilly Radio Soul Show, 'Takin' Care Of Business' was something of a Manchester institution. Along with Greg Edwards and Robbie Vincent in London, Mike completed the trio of most influential black music presenters in the UK. Also a major force in clubland, Mike would move on to BBC Radio Manchester, before launching specialist black / dance music station, Sunset, in 1989. All these years on, he can still be heard, in his inimitable style, on Radio Manchester. ...

Ian Just a quick point This is your first and only time as a member on here You were a member of soul talk which was a stand alone topica based email discussion list at the time, when you left it was run by myself and David Flynn and was a completely stand alone site which included the membership Reason mentioning this, is that someone joining as a new member, such as you have done is a completely different matter than say ex-members re-joining. No real wish to go into discussing ex-members, site policy and so on via this thread, the feedback forum is best place for such Posted just so you are aware mike -
Just in case missed it on the forums can find a new article on the Times Online website that may be of interest. Its written by Terry Christian and its titled "The Return Of Northern Soul", as you can guess it's one of those sort of mainstream features that do pop up now and again. While the title could be classed as a bit ropey, this one may be worth a look over as parts of it do go beyond the usual re-cycled mainstream approach, yep it is a bit Wigan/Revival orientated, it mentions Duffy, there's a few errors and all that, but to its credit it does takes things just a bit further along the road with a new/old sort of look at two Manchester soul venues. But, as I walk down the steps into an almost unchanged Twisted Wheel, a blast of humidity greets me. Almost 200 soul fans are packed into the darkness. Smiles greet me as the promoter, Pete Roberts, a 1968 Wheel original, guides me through the crowded interior with not a foot of dancefloor free Quinn eventually moved to Manchester and, along with fellow twentysomething devotees and DJs Paul Barker and Paul Walker, started up the Beat Boutique nights. “We wanted a club that might appeal to our age group. We have a monthly crowd of maybe 200-plus youngsters, mostly under the age of 25, and it's growing all the time,” You can read the full article at the link below http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article4613377.ece forum discusion link below https://www.soul-source.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=80017
