polls on here should be looked at just a bit of enjoyment amongst members last time looked about 800-1000+ individual members login weekly some will go straight to sales/events and never see this and then there's some who wont vote for whatever reasons if you are looking for a scientific study then you are always gonna be disapointed its just members sharing their views

mp3 = shorthand for any sort of audio file in days gone by we were fairly loose about this but then we got over run by "fill my ipod type" requests so have to have a blanket policy of no sound file requests the issue is a legal/copyright one if seen to be offering any type of file swapping service then leaving ourselves open to all sorts unfortunately itsjust the way things are mike
-
yep its best when entering to avoid too much formating as looks like you tried to use line returns to "even out" the text ? its not just adverts but will be the same also if viewing on smaller browsers/windows/phones etc
-
as said many times unfortunately can not offer such thanks mike

Just a quick highlight of an article written by long time member Idell ( member name nubes) and mod of the mag: general forum that has just been featured in the online web magazine Pure Grooves It's an article that was originally featured in Manifesto in the 90s and has been updated to the current day. You can read it via the Pure Grooves Web Mag link below... http://content.yudu....urces/index.htm The article starts on page 6 "It has been generally accepted by all on the rare soul scene that the Twisted Wheel club in Manchester was the piviotal rare soul all nighter which shaped the whole northern soul sub culture.everything preceeding the Twisted Wheel..talked about those early London Clubs... scant mention is made of them..."

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Mike replied to Dave West's topic in All About the SOUL
you lot serious ? you going to ask that ? god help us! -
we have a no mp3 uploading rule due to copyright issues we say mp3 for ease of use there is no difference between uploading a mp3 than a mp4, wma, wmv, flv, etc etc if we could allow videos from a legal viewpoint then we would youtube video are hosted by youtube on youtube who pay both lawyers and labels which allows them to offer their service of offering sound clips unfortunatly can not offer the same at the current moment therefore till can ask all members not to upload sound files, this includes all the various formats and video files if do feel such and such may be acceptable it would work better and save hassle if took time to ask via members forum thanks mike

22Nd Oct The Torch Reunion - Change Of Venue
Mike replied to Pauldonnelly's topic in All About the SOUL
Jez venue change has been on the front page news feature the entry in events is very light and maybe should look at that as the focus rather than aiming for max exposure via yesterdays sorry but going to close as event guide should be the place mike -
22Nd Oct The Torch Reunion - Change Of Venue
Mike replied to Pauldonnelly's topic in All About the SOUL
yep not sure why feel a thread in yesterdays is apt may be ok if it was a one off unique event but thats no longer the case the link to event thread here closing this as best use the actual event thread for event discussion -

Manchester details below, see further down for all euro dates inc london and berlin Charles Bradley's voice has evolved from a lifetime of paying dues, having nomadically labored for decades at various day jobs from Maine to Alaska - singing and performing in his spare time - before re-settling in his hometown of Brooklyn and eventually finding a musical home at Dunham. In his distinctively rough-hewn timbre one hears the unmistakable voice of experience - each note and gruff inflection a reflection of his extended, sometimes rocky, personal path. Sun Nov 13 Manchester, UK - Band On The Wall Information Band on the Wall welcomes the 'Screaming Eagle of Soul' - the one and only Charles Bradley to Manchester for what's guaranteed to be one of the most electrifying concerts of the season. Charles Bradley's voice has evolved from a lifetime of paying dues, having nomadically labored for decades at various day jobs from Maine to Alaska - singing and performing in his spare time - before re-settling in his hometown of Brooklyn and eventually finding a musical home at Dunham. In his distinctively rough-hewn timbre one hears the unmistakable voice of experience - each note and gruff inflection a reflection of his extended, sometimes rocky, personal path. His performances exude both raw power and poignant beauty and hark back to the great golden age of funk and soul in the 60s and 70s. Indeed a turning point for Bradley was in 1962 when, still living on the streets, his older sister took him to see James Brown and his singing has been compared to non other than Otis Redding's. Signed by Daptone, and on the back of his new album No Time For Dreaming, Charles Bradley visits Band on the Wall with full backing band, The Extraordinaires, for a night you're going to remember for a long, long time. This event will begin at 8pm but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open from 5.30pm for delicious food and drinks. Special Offer!
