Detroit News has an article on the recently held funeral Toward the end of his eulogy, Cousin spoke the lyrics to "I'll Be Around," prompting a spirited call and response with the assembled. "Whenever you call me," Cousin thundered, " I'll be there!" the congregation answered. "Whenever you want me" – " I'll be there!" "Whenever you need me" – " I'll be there!" Then together, " I'll be around!" From The Detroit News: https://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130326/ENT04/303260307#ixzz2OfNDemBF

Northern Soul And 60/70S High Street Clubs/discos
Mike replied to Mike's topic in All About the SOUL
but at the time wasn't it was more like what later followed in the 70, 80s ,90s onwards till the current day disco, house, dance etc etc clubs playing the latest current dance tracks to uk joe public out for a good time saturday nite the evolvement of 'northern' was more than this, wasn't it ? -
just reading another thread and strikes me that there must have been a fair few of tailor mades played as pre-releases at wigan guess the obvious ones are all the ian levine ones and tommy hunts etc etc an attempt to list all that were played ? may lead to some interesting info coming out out such as were any of the "bad" ones ever played only criteria being played as a pre-release ...

just me or anyone else notice nowadays how 1960/70s high street clubs/discos are now starting to creep in under the term northern soul ? northern to me was never about these sort of clubs, sure ok for a sat nite get pissed/fight /pull sort of thing but nought to do with northern... imo

yep and to me every so often its like they take a side step and then crack on but each time just that bit more frantic - imagine there's a few musical terms that says it better a vocal would just get in the way
