Give a laptop

Last summer local BBC radio stations helped members of the public donate thousands of old laptops and tablets for schoolchildren to use across England. For those pupils, who were sharing phones at home while learning in lockdown, it made a huge difference.


With schools now closed again we’re once more asking you to help those pupils still in need.

Perhaps you received new laptops, tablets or mobiles for Christmas or you may have old devices you don’t need anymore?

We are working to join the dots between your devices and the children who may need them the most. We are sharing details of companies and charities who can help us achieve our aim of getting devices to pupils.

Sandy Hollis : Lost Detroit Soulstress Found.

In 2008 Soul Junction Records issued a cd album project on the Detroit group, The Falcons entitled “Good, Good Feelings” which featured their entire Big Wheel label output. The album also featured both sides of the then unknown artist Sandy Hollis’s Big Wheel 45 “I’m Tempted/Tables Will Turn”

While the phase 'strange times indeed' has never seemed more suited, would just like to take a moment and pass on our seasonal greetings to all our members on behalf of all the Soul Source team...

Okeh Records: A Pictorial Discography (4-7150 to 4-7337).

Well it's taken a while but finally sending the first of these out.

A detailed discography of Okeh Records from 1962 until the labels demise in 1970.

A Sunday morning read sort of post, a highlight of a recent book titled 'Keeping the faith: A history of northern soul' by Keith Gildart and Stephen Catterall. Published in August 2020 this book is now available at approx. £60 for the hardback edition and £50 approx for the Kindle edition at Amazon

Florence Alabama Music Enterprises, or simply FAME, the world-renowned recording studio and record label owned by Rick Hall in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. It produced a wealth of hit records for many artists and was instrumental in creating the sound of Muscle Shoals.

The Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir have been in touch via Matt Sexton, passing on word of a video they have produced featuring songs from John Legend, John Kee, Whitney Houston that have been recorded by the Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir. Video and info follow below...
