Mike Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Putting up a shout soon for any one whos interested in taking part in some source talk audio sessions Idea is to try out having a one or two hour sort of "offical" audio slot on some nights of the weeks in the chatroom where a member or two can "broadcast" spots to other members via the chatroom with the chatroom and the way the audio works in there think it could be a good thing anyone can take part, if you just have a mp3 player own your pc you are good to go, of course if you got decks and mike wired up then that work as well basically the way it works is if if you can listen to audio on your pc then you should be ok to take part thinking is have at first a couple of "anything goes" nights then if ok can expand to different styles - different nights while it can be used in a free for all way any time of the day , thinking is that by having a sort of "official regular slot" can make more aware and give more exposure Anyway just a quick word on it, as said should be shouting soon for any "volunteers" who are up for doing say a live 30 min or so spot As said if can play clips on your pc then you got the equipment ! just a quick heads up, more either later today or tomorrow

Chalky Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 The Soul Source Internet Radio Station I'm always playing sounds when in there. Still some issues with mainly IE 7 users in hearing though. Firefox seems ok.
Chalky Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) I've had more folk ask how to listen in there so I wrote this out for one member and PM'ed him so may as well post it here.... on the chat page, above the text box at the top there is a blueish banner that says SoulSource. under that there should be several options... Action Options Roam Voice Chat Help If you don't have all the above or the banner isn't blueish (think one user's was brown) then you have a problem. This problem was usually sorted by installing latest Java plug in. you can download the latest Java plugin from.... https://java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp down the left there should be list of names of who is in the chat room. At the left of names, if anyone is playing records/tunes etc there shouild be a little icon of a microphone. Right click on any names who have this and you should have five options, the bottom (5th) option is "listen to users broadcast". Select this and another window/tab should open that says Video chat and you should be able to hear the music. If you can't it could be a Java problem. again you can download the latest Java plugin from.... https://java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp select the online one to download. If there is still a problem I suggest download firefox https://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/ it is free to download and it is faster and more secure (IMHO) than Internet Explorer 7. Other than the above I can't really help anymore. Everyone who uses Firefox doesn't have a problem, those who use IE 7 some have problems some don't. Once you can hear the tracks if you want to play some your self it's really quite simple. Load your media player, personally I use Jet Audio. Got to the row of options and select Voice Chat. Select the bottom (3rd) option Show My Voice Chat Icon. A little icon of a microphone will appear at the side of your name to the right in the list of users. Then go back to Voice Chat and select Start My Voice Chat Broadcast. Another window/tab will open in your browser titled Video Chat, others should then be able to hear what you are playing. On the tab there is aor will be a list of how many and who is listening to your selection. Edited January 30, 2008 by chalky

Chalky Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) theres few in there Mike and Kev tried to play via Realplayer and wouldn't work. He switched to Jet Audio and that worked fine. Jet Audio is what I use too. Tested Windows Media Player and that works fine too. Edited January 30, 2008 by chalky
