Guest in town Mikey Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I obviously like the understated intro's. Martells - Where can my baby be and of course Rufus Lumley - Stronger than me. Maybe its the base. To me its like the build up in your groin before an orgasm. Another intro I like but not really a musical one: Ladies and gentlmen, I know the custom has always been To introduce a spokesman to you Before the story begins So with no further ado, let me introduce myself to you I'm Doctor Love.

Sunnysoul Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 (edited) Biggest intro EVER just has to be ... THE INVITATIONS "SKIING IN THE SNOW" !!!!!!!!!! Edited September 12, 2006 by sunnysoul
Guest Bogue Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Biggest intro EVER just has to be ... THE INVITATIONS "SKIING IN THE SNOW" !!!!!!!!!! Love it or loathe it ( & i still love it, don't care) still a fantastic intro If by biggest you mean longest, i think "Eddie Holman's" album version of "This Will Be A Night To Remember" must come close to that accolade.
Ernie Andrews Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Another for hitting you in the face- So is the Sun - World Column
Guest Polyvelts Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Del larks. Job opening. Long enough to put your drink down in midconversation (ie bullshit) and hot foot it for the dance floor. PS Always thought it the greatest thing bout NS scene was that in the middle of a conversation at a niter if you heard the intro to a record you just HAD to dance to, you could just get say 'gotta dance to this' and head to the floor - and the other person would TOTALLY understand.

Guest Rich Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Invitations "Look On The Good Side" Great Intro' Great shout I always think the girls wailing 'Are you ready, to be loved' is a clarion call to the floor for Ernie Lee Banks anthemic groover also. One intro that always makes me smile is to Inez and Charlie's 'Tightrope'. Was anybody at the Derby Tiffs all-nighter when Colin Curtis was playing his new release stuff to virtually no response - the place was absolutely rammed as well. He then followed the Philly All-Star's 'Clean up the Ghetto' with Tightrope and I've never witnessed such a melee to get to floor - before or since. Great bank holiday doos though them Derby Tiffs doos
Guest Rowly Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Paulette-Love You Babe-Contact Good shout Tony..... And you gotta be quick onto the floor for this or you've missed half of it before you know it!
Simsy Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Benny Lattimore - Girl I got news for you. Also intro-wise and not yet mentioned - If I could Only be Sure - Nolan Fred Porter ..
