Actually it's a sort-of bogus doo-wop record, recorded in the 70s by (I believe) the universally known Philly record dealer Val Shiveley, and pressed on one of the most famous of all rare Chicago R & B/Doo-Wop labels to look like an obscure original 45 from the 50s . The 'B' side is allegedly written by 'John Lennon', too.

It's not that rare, but let's face it, it's pretty hard to pass up an opportunity to own a record by the Five Shits, innit?

The strange world of record collecting !!

Johnny

Hi Johnny,

The Blenders isn't that rare, it's been pressed and repressed dozens of times down the years. Like its equally notorious 'colleague', "The Co*ksuc*ers' Ball" by the Clovers, it was never officially released in the first place. Anyone who wants, should be able to pick up either for a modest price, they turn up on R & B dealers lists quite frequently...
