John May Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Also do you not think that the vocal on the " Hey It's Love " side sounds just a liitle bit like Morrisey from the Smiths.......

Sebastian Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Here's the original version by The O'Jays on Imperial. It's much better (understatement of the year).
John May Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Here's the original version by The O'Jays on Imperial. It's much better (understatement of the year). link Timely reminder there, I'd forgotten about the O'Jays version...... I just seen one on Gemm for $144..... seems a bit steep, always thought the O'Jays version was quite common.

Mattbolton Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Thanks chalky/nick link Love this record muchly. And sounded ace at the 100 Club. Paid £50 for my Backbeat demo if that's any indication. Heard Arthur Fenn play it at the Wilton and just HAD to have one. If only I could get the snare on my demo to sound like that! And that opening, falling guitar arpeggio is lush.

Guest rachel Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I do like the record (both sides) but to these ears he sounds like Morph in parts! Hammy link I'm going to have to listen to this again Certainly does have a mumbly vocal in places (I used to talk to Morph in Morph language when he was on the telly when I was small )
