Djmelismo Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Hi Barry! Top show as always. My favourites this time: O'Jays - You're The Girl Of My Dreams Al (Alonzo) Wilson - Love You Girl Ernie Lucas - What Would I Do Without You Ernie Johnson - Move Along Melody Kings - Closer Walk With Thee Butch & The Newports - Out Of My Hands POSSIBLY THE BEST TUNE FOR ME THIS TIME!!!! Marilyn Barbarin - Believe Me POSSIBLY THE SECOND BEST TUNE FOR ME THIS TIME - BRILLIANT Randy Brown - Our Forefathers Is it THE Randy Brown, who put out a number of popular modern soul albums in the late 70´s and early 80´s?! Frannie Golde -Time Has A Way An all-time favourite of mine, have it on a 45. Hard to believe that she is white! However, she did compose songs that were recorded by black artists. Betty Wright - I'm Thankful You wrote: "Was she really only 14 at the time..." Well, in more recent years she produced another child prodigy - Joss Stone, who sounded so mature although so young. Regards Melismo
Soul-Brother Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Thanks Mel... Randy Brown - Our Forefathers Is it THE Randy Brown, who put out a number of popular modern soul albums in the late 70´s and early 80´s?! Same one Mel...although you'd be a genius to tell from the style....check here Frannie Golde -Time Has A Way An all-time favourite of mine, have it on a 45. Hard to believe that she is white! However, she did compose songs that were recorded by black artists. Wonderful track......maybe should do a show of 'white' soul singers....would be easy to fill...
