Both had a unique production technique during the early '60s which, apparently, other studios and producers tried to emulate with no success. Both Spector and Meek suffered some sort of psychological disorder. Spector blamed most of it on his persecution at school because he was a Jew. Sadly, both producers had an unheathy interest in firearms. In 1965, Phil Spector wanted to meet Joe Meek during a trip to the UK. Spector produced maybe 100 recordings between 1960 and 1967. The vast majority of them are unqualified classics... Meek produced at least 100 records a year between 1960 and 1967.
