Guest Dave Turner Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die 'cause I don't know what's up there beyond the sky Then I go to my brother, and I say ... brother help me please But he winds up knocking me ... back down on my knees Sam Cooke - A Change Is Gonna Come
Mick Boyle Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Don't know if this has been done. John and the Weirdest. "Here I sit here in this lonesome room, With nothing but the smell of sweet perfume" "One silk stocking lying on the chair, A yellow ribbon that you wore in your hair" "The same old dish you used to do, Just lying on the table top for two, One single helping lying on the floor, A lonely little doggy crying at the door" Young Brothers "Put your hand in mine and come on" 1
Kegsy Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 "There's a hole in daddy's arm, where all the money goes" or "Sam Stone was alone when he popped his last balloon, climbing walls while sitting in a chair." Both from Swamp Dogg - Sam Stone on Cream, the whole song is lyrically excellent. 1
Soul16 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Don't know if this has been done. John and the Weirdest. "Here I sit here in this lonesome room, With nothing but the smell of sweet perfume" "One silk stocking lying on the chair, A yellow ribbon that you wore in your hair" "The same old dish you used to do, Just lying on the table top for two, One single helping lying on the floor, A lonely little doggy crying at the door" Young Brothers "Put your hand in mine and come on" I'm pretty sure the John and the Weirdest lyrics are as follows: "A sink full of dishes you used to do Dust lying on a table top for two One single hairpin lying on the floor A lonely little doggy crying at the door" Edited May 27, 2015 by Soul16
Soulstu Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Don't know if this has been done but what about the whole of Two For The Price Of One by Williams & Watson... Always cracks me up "Sweet shazam a puff of Cadillac smoke, he's just an old love bandit!" what a pair of love gods!!!!
Mick Boyle Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I'm pretty sure the John and the Weirdest lyrics are as follows: "A sink full of dishes you used to do Dust lying on a table top for two One single hairpin lying on the floor A lonely little doggy crying at the door" I once put some Mel Britt lyrics on that were wrong so I took extra care with this one as they are debatable, two other's agreed with my assumption but who knows. I think my version flows better - carries the story along. At least we agree on the little doggy bit 1
