Would be interesting to know what price regular dealers/sellers on Soul Source would put on this Eddie Jefferson 45 ???

I've got a copy by Horace Silver (i think?) on Blue Note if thats any good??

Have never seen the E.J. version on 45 - mega rare!

naaa... it isn't that rare... i missed the last copy on ebay a few weeks ago... went for about 60 usd as i remember!

it is on prestige, so it should be a few copies around!

Seriously?

I've only ever heard of two people with a copy, i've had it on an LP for about 20 years and have looked for it on and off but have never seen a copy of it for sale?

Naaaah - rare ba*tard to find -just cos it's on Prestige don't mean it's common - Prestige was predominantly an LPs label - they hardly pressed any 45s....

Good Luck in finding one - I've only ever seen one copy - and that was buried deep in a mega-collection...the Horace Silver version is neat, but an instrumental..

very interesting... thought it whould be easy to get...

Well, as far as I remember, I've been outbidded on the Eddie Jefferson 45 3 times during the last year on ebay, prices were very different (even if condition were similar). 60usd seems like a bargain

Not an impossible record, but surely not common!

Good luck in your search.

Last copy on ebay went through on 16 March 2009 with a winning bid of $324.00 US, which is probably cheap-ish taking into account the present huge demand for it across various scenes (funk, northern, mod) ...

True. I was the second highest bidder on that one, I supposed to be at least the 3rd.

Average price on ebay 400$, more or less..

Is this record right for the northern scene?

Prob not, very much a mod tune in my opinion, suuuuuuuuperb though. Think its on the 'Blow Up' LP (could be wrong), a great compilation.

You can get it on the Eddie Jefferson LP (Prestige) thats probably still out on re-issue if it doesn't have to be original, probably loads of them on Ebay..?

Def not one for the Northern scene!

Alos reissued by Jazzman some years ago on 7" with Mark Murphy 'Why Don't You Do Right' on flip - good reissue - dunno if he's got any left now as it was an early release on the label - worth a try...
