Premium Stuff Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Hi all I have never really looked much at the Westbound label even though it was a very significant label. I have a few things on this one, Magictones, Superlatives, Detroit Emeralds, Emanuel Laskey - Never My Love etc. Amnesty on dumb numpty questions OK ... but what is the set up with some releases coming out on both the multi-coloured and the red issue? I won't embarass myself further ... please enlighten me Cheers Richard

(the ones i have anyway ) alan Hi Alan, yes it's the same Westbound label - the Superlatives came out originally on Dynamics in Detroit and got picked up for wider distribution on Westbound. I Don't Know How/Lonely In A Crowd (Dynamics 1016/Westbound 144) Don't Let True Love Die/She's My Wonder Woman (Dynamics 1017/Westbound 154) Cheers Richard Edited April 12, 2009 by Premium Stuff
Glynthornhill Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Just differing label designs and pressing runs. There is no significance between the earlier red issues say by Detroit Emeralds and the multi coloured design of the 70s . The psych style label suited Westbound' s left field releases of the day however. Some pale blue ones also as stated.
Soulhawk Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 are there any red Westbounds beyond that common Detroit Emeralds 45 & the Magictones 'Good Old Music' b/w 'I'll Make It Up To You'? btw: 'I'll Make It Up To You' is underappreciated & great!
