Soul in South Wales

Any soulies in south Wales interested in helping to start a new monthly soul night in Newport, Gwent?

Music policy - 100 Club-esque, non-hammered oldies (some would obviously slip through), lesser-knowns, midtempo sounds and underplayed soulful oldies...60s and 70s.

Doesn't seem to be much going on down there so my mate Brian Hall and I are interested in maybe starting something (he has found a great little venue).

Interested in hearing from

a) potential DJs - will take anyone with good records

potential punters - is there the demand in Newport/Cardiff/maybe Bristol to make a monthly 120 capacity night work with the above format (ie not a Wigan revival night - not that we have anything against those nights).
