pikeys dog Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Brenda Holloway LP went cheap.... I rate this as probably the fourth hardest LP release on any of the UK Motown lables.

pikeys dog Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Really? Never knew that. Anyone want a warped but plays ok copy at a good price - pm me. After the Contours, Marthas Come Get These Mammories and The Marvellous Marvelettes (complete with splendid taches on the sleeve) I'd say this was the one that took me the longest to find, and the one I've seen the least (although I never had a Contours or a Mammories")
Steve G Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Brenda Holloway LP went cheap.... I rate this as probably the fourth hardest LP release on any of the UK Motown lables. Read somewhere that UK TM only pressed up a couple of hundred copies of this. Redckon many of those still exist and are in our collections.
Modernsoulsucks Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Im sure Tal Armstrong was on here for £40 and Jimmy Raye for £450 within last couple of weeks. May have sold now but they hadn't when first listed on Manny's list. ROD

May have sold now but they hadn't when first listed on Manny's list. ROD I thought Tal Armstrong was about £30+. What does "Let it go" fetch now? It's got to be a lot harder than "Leave the hurt". Jordi
Jason S Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 How the hell does that Tal Armstrong '45 make £158?!!!!
Steve Plumb Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Brenda Holloway LP went cheap.... I rate this as probably the fourth hardest LP release on any of the UK Motown lables. I'm not sure about it being the fourth hardest BUT imho it's the BEST one!!!!!!!! Fookin brilliant LP and one I wouldn't part with and I also have a spare copy (just in case!) If I were to sell me spare it certainly wouldn't be for that paltry sum Mr Manship sold it at, it'd be at least double.................he sells his records far too cheap that lad Cheers Steve

May have sold now but they hadn't when first listed on Manny's list. ROD yes so am I ?? possibly more than one copy of JR as well... i've always thought JR is due a big price increase as its one of the best out and out stompers there is IMO. but this could just be one expensive copy and others will still be much less. the rare TA must be "baby i'm lost" on spindletop backed with a nice sweet soul track.

I also have "access" to a copy of the Mary Wells 'My Baby Just Cares for Me' (UK Tamla Motown) LP from a mate locally who doesn't post on here - anybody interested in that? Let me know... M
