No Precisions here, so just down to Jr Walker "Shotgun"

Sorry lads, I've only got it on LP.

What about:

1-2-3 Len Barry

Jimmy Radcliffe - Long After Tonight Is All Over (I think only Tobi legend and Dean Parrish were up)

Darrell Banks - I'm The One Who Loves You

San Remo Golden Strings - Hungry For Love

Jackie Wilson - Who Who Song

Larry Williams & Johnny Watson - A Quitter Never Wins

Abba - Dancing Queen?

It's got to be some of these

Pete you didn't mention what side of the street that house was on and so anecdotal evidence in support of your unwarranted questioning of my interpretation of the rules is unadmissable under 411 section C. Laminated hand-bound copies can be ordered from myself at £29.99 which I think you'll agree is under £30.

Fantastic use of 3/4 syllable words there M.

'inadmissable' btw.

Not got much time now unfortunately.

Certain amount of petty intimidation from Godz who put the "dic" in dictionary and the "ant" in pedantic although why he'd do the latter I have no idea. I think we all knew it was the Precisions and to draw attention to Hedgehog's woeful spelling is out of order unless a cheap laugh is on the cards.

So where are we now. Im in Clitheroe and the rest of you aren't.

Junior walker Shotgun

Precisions Such misery

Pretty sure Richard has that as he seems to collect Detroit as his Strides avitar would suggest

Now that Kris has ruled out the PRECISIONS (carefully and slowly typed), anyone have the mis-spelled version i.e. the PRESISIONS. Or could that be a rarity? Its on the Dreary lable!

P

Ps and now I am being called a Hedgehog. Are they bad spellers?

does that now mean there are no active tunes at the moment

I don't know Mark. Only just reported in. Will have to check the handover notes.

What about a Ric Tic series, anyone oblige?

I thought it didn't sound right, Barry. In my defence I was trying to get back to the other room to talk about the pressing arrangements for next Christmas with the wife. Yes I know it's only just April but you're married - you know how it is.

I am an ex-civil servant so using 40 words for one tends to be my "default" mode especially when it comes to the written word. Although Im sure you've realised that the conceit here is that Im the manic authoritarian with little regard for those in his charge. Im not really like that although it is worrying how easily I slip into the role.

Im sure Godz will testify to my generally affable nature if he knows what's good for him.

If I buy a rule book Rod, then give it Porcupine say, who then 'owns' the rule book? Myself, Porcupine, or even you? Or maybe even Clare, as I imagine all manufacturing 'costs' will have been funded by your housekeeping/pocket money income,

Is there a downloadable version?

Pete (in trouble big time now)

I think you're getting distracted here by trivialities and you need to concentrate on the core issue which is of course the £29.99 which I hope is on it's way to me by first class mail.

I have engaged a team to look at the feasability of a downloadable or uploadable package which has run into some small difficulty as Leyton Orient now claim their expertise as to computer software is limited.

Sorry Mike but when it comes to the organ I am somewhat lacking.

All 45s have gone again I notice so if you wanna come up with about 10 titles that would be good. Im a bit busy now as I have a mate from US coming to stay and Im getting the spare room ready. I'll check back in an hour or so and if no titles I'll come up with a few.

Plenty records Mike, but I think Rod will admit that list was a tad optimistic, or desperate :wicked:

after the amount we've all sifted through and still haven't found a 'common' record, I think 'desperate' listings are going to be the order of the day Pete :D

No eligible 45s left then???

Some suggestions ...

Edwin Starr - 25 miles

Jackie Wilson - The Sweetest Feeling (it was a #1 not that long ago) - is that the right title??

Stevie Wonder - Uptight

If they are no good I suggest we go for 'Soul Bowl' soul pack favourites - and the kind of thing you can't get rid of coz everyone already has it

Cheers

I'm pretty much 100% that the jackie Wilson & Edwin Starr were eliminated on the the first few pages. The Stevie Wonder is a longshot considering some people's aversion to Motown on 45, but see how it goes?

I've been a bit busy today with a mate coming to stay. Just catching up and I see not much action.

Porcupine don't forget NZ is on the other side of the world so although it's late Friday night April 3 2009 here, it's a Wednesday in August 1836 there so the internet hasn't been invented yet.

Sure we had Jackie right at the beginning and I've only got

Stevie Wonder Uptight But adding

Stevie Wonder Nothing's too good...

Isleys I guess I'll...

Marvalettes I keep holding on

Contours It's so hard being a loser

Mary Wells My guy

Mary Wells What's easy for two

Brenda Holloway When Im gone

Edwin Starr My weakness is you

Edwin Starr I want my baby back

Don't think we've had those before.

It's tough to remember what's been done.

We just need a carry forward page, or one at the top of the post that is a regularly updated list.

Happened OK with sales and with the Detroit, Chigaco etc. name all the labels threads.

Just need someone to be official editor :shades:

Then there will be one list with all the 'no's taken out and all new suggestions added etc.

Cheers

Not quite sure what you mean but with hindsight what we really needed was a full list with say "live" titles at the top and "eliminated" titles [in red] in ALPHABETICAL order by artist underneath, which as you say could be edited as we went along.

A massive undertaking at this late stage. However I have kept an eye on what has been put forward and have a reasonable memory, so much so that I rarely forget the wife's birthday or our anniversary and can only recall the odd occasion when Clare has received a bag of charcoal briquettes from the local garage wrapped lovingly in some spare Xmas wrap I found in the loft.

Hey, I've got extremely wide ranging tastes in music. Last record I added to collection was Dennis Brown 12" "I like it like that" yesterday.

So trying for a bit of a leftfield one for me. What about

OK, let's dead this part of the game because I really don't think it is possible. Let's move on to artists (which we couldn't agree on even that at the first place we did this game).

Will anyone admit to owning no James Brown, Solomon Burke or Jerry Butler 45s?
