Little-stevie Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hope to go to see Jerry Butler play live in America next year while i have the chance to see one of my soul gods.. Any nice stories from members about seeing the iceman live.. One day they will all be gone, wanna pay my respect to a real soul hero.. Was searching the net for a soundfile of favourite tune by Jerry called Isle Of Sirens, found a soundfile on youtube listed as Jeery Butler with the impressions but not the version that i have with Jerry singing solo ( a deep soul ballad )... Does anyone have a soundfile please, do many of you know this tune???? regards steve cheers Steve

Not sure that he ever has been over. When I was concert going regularly in the 70s I certainly didn't get to see him. Would love to before it's too late though.

At the time he resided in Florida. He advised me that Jerry Butler, Gene Chandler , The Impressions & Billy Paul were in concert in Tampa all together on the same night. I flew out for a rather indulgent long weekend. Dave & Bev collected me from Orlando Airport and off we tootled, getting backstage by arrangement with Billy & Blanche Paul. Billy,Gene & Jerry were perfect gentlemen with us. Jerry opened with...youve guessed it " Moody Woman"! Following on with "Moon River", "Only The Strong Survive", "For Your Precious Love", "He Will Break Your Heart", "A Brand New Me", & a wonderful rendition of his hit with Brenda Lee Eager "Aint Understanding Mellow" duetting with his lady backing singer. Im sure you will love it when you get to see him. Regards David Ferguson Edited March 27, 2009 by veep1296
