What's the story, why did Gordy do that? money came out in early 1960. dont think he`d started up the motown label til later that year although i think marv johnsons come to me came out in 1959 on tamla and then united artists. i think he shelved the tamla label for a year or so after that before starting his labels out properly in autumn 1960 dave

I mean, he was a hard businessman, never thought of him giving anything away
