Bloody typical!

What's the betting there'll be a big pile of rubble there for the next few years until the funding unfreezes.............? What a waste........

To paraphrase Kevin Costner "If we (re) build it, they will come" - I have a piece of dance floor in my house................. well, it's a start !! :)

Epic,

I've got some bits of 100 yr old floorboard in my garage, you want to make a bid for them? I'll quite happily pour beer and talc on them and lets not forget to stamp Highland Room on them if you want.

Only if the beer is watered down "Wilson's Bitter" - authentic Highland Room ale !!

Was there saturday, but forgot the bloody camera !

Torch, Mecca, Casino, Clifton Hall, bulldozers love 'em all

Add Cleethorpe's Winter Gardens to that list- knocked down, and as far as I am aware no current plans to build on there.

Had many a good Soul Night at Scunny Bath's with Rick Scott. Due to be rebuilt by the local council but bickering and the credit crunch have appeared to put future plans on ice for awhile.

I have a brick from the Torch and one from Trentham Gardens (the Brick that heard the Dells sing!!!).I could do with some of that Mecca cement dust to stick them together!

cheers

ps could not get a piece of the dancefloor from the Highland Room.I would have bought one- but thought it was a scam or something.Would have looked great next to my brick collection in my record room.I know I am mad, but don,t tell anyone.I was right fed up when they finally demolished the Mecca.I mentioned the fact to a few of my soul customers, they thought I was mad aswell and could not see the importance of the event.Just muttered about Ian Levine and Wigan...

Hi Francis

get that scoundril Farrell up there with a low-loader, you need Palm Trees mate ! as for the dance floor-rumour has it it was from the Down stairs main ballroom, not the Highland room, which has apparently been put into storage along with the Tartan carpet for future generations to enjoy (by Blackpool Council-I KID YOU NOT!)

hope you are well

Rob
