Tolbert Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) ...wow...a Record Flattener ...saw that on ebay Germany: "FURUTECH DFV-1 LP Flattener - Der Schallplatten-B¼gler!" 1480 ...interessting thought: ironing my vinyl when I'm watching football on tv Edited March 21, 2009 by Tolbert
ZapatootheTiger Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I read a while ago that flattening a record will only make it playable, but won't correct the problem of the sound change caused by the original warping of the groove. I don't do ironing
Pete S Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I've ironed loads of records with varying results flat surface, wet tea towel over the top, AT YOUR OWN RISK!
boba Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I read a while ago that flattening a record will only make it playable, but won't correct the problem of the sound change caused by the original warping of the groove. I don't do ironing the sound change is mainly when the record is heat damaged -- e.g. the actual grooves have a rippled look. i heard these record flatteners work much better on LPs than they do on 45s.
Platters 81 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 ive got a few warped 45s...that play ok....ive often thought of trying these flattening techniques....for example ...would you try flattening this ...(if it played ok..with extra grams on arm..(no jokes please) ?
