Soul-slider Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I know this has been discussed before but I can't remember the outcome! I have the UK 45 of Lou Rawls' 'Dead End Street' (Capitol) and the L.P 'Too Much!' which contains 'Dead End Street' and a brilliant monologue to kick it off. The UK 45 does not have this. Am I right in presuming that the USA 45 doesn't have the monologue either and the only way to get it is on the l.p? I have to say, without the monologue, the record just doesn't have the same impact.

Dave Pinch Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 It was released on 45 in the US both with and without the monologue on two different issues. Here's a "monologue" copy: ive only seen usa copies with the monologue. also reissued in the early 70s on capitol starline with monologue. id love to see a usa copy without...any body. i kept a uk copy
