Soul Brothers Six "Thank You Baby" gets me on the floor everytime. Just suits my way of dancin' I suppose.

What I can't move to nowadays are the really fast 'uns ---

Butlers - She tried To Kiss Me

Jewels - We Got Togetherness

Still ok with the Gems "I'll Be There" though rolleyes.gif

Chandlers - "You're love makes me lonley". It breaks into 3-4 waltz time towards the end, leaving yoiu stranded on the floor waiting for the guitar break before things get going again.....top tune though.

If were talking awkward rather than just fast then...

The Visitors - Lonely One Only Son

In your ears it sounds like a million dollar dancer but when you dance to it it's really difficult and i'm not sure why (and i can dance comfortably to The Nomads).

A crying shame cos it's an absolute stonking record.

with you on that one, think I've gone to the bar, got a drink and come back before it kicks back in

pat powdrill though (Pete S)... that's danceable? I'll 'do it', even if I muck it up, It's one record I'll always be up for

What about records that could be classed as too slow to dance to....

E.g Jimmy Radcliffe

Ray Pollard

Gene McDanniels etc

Great music....but not dancers................or are they???

Good call

I must be on my way - flat lining tempo

think that 'Higher and Higher' and Superstition are miles

apart musically.....but great as well

yes i meant there is a definate 'square' kinda beat goin on in the both of them... sure there is a more technical term out there.. up across down across... ha... i know what i mean.. x

Same kinda tempo is 'Have Some Everybody' - Flaming Emerald - like doing a mini-marathon on the floor when that one used to drop...!!

Just thinking about dancing to sounds of that tempo nowadays makes my head start to steam........ :D:ohmy:

Well past it........MRez

COME ON LADS YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remeber it well, 1979 and Richard Searling was specialising in undanceable record.....Herbie Williams "The lover who loves you not"..time for a sharp exit from the dance floor.

Yeah, remember trying to dance to The Kansas City Playboys version at the 100 club over 20 years ago and abandoning the idea after about 30 seconds, Salvadors "Stick by me baby" is another bannana skin.

Try dancing to The Executive Four - You Got a Good Thing Going, I can only manage a tight twist like jig to this..

great record though..

mal

Was at Stewartby Nighter the other week, my mate put Artistics - Girl I Need You on , I can dance to most things , but had to give up after about a minute. Some records you just have to listen to and enjoy.

Salvadors hard to dance to??? Maybe now in me dotage but thats just an age thing & f**k all to do with the tune at all. At the Torch people got killed in the stampede to get on the floor when the first bars cut the place up. Mind you a visit to the medicine cupboard beforehand made most things possible...

Absolutely Nij, Salvadors in my top ten of all time, just that I am a shite dancer.
