The Tempest Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Picked up the Moment of Truths solo album on salsoul yesterday for a couple of quid, had only heard " So Much For Love " played out at a few do's here and there , but basically bought the album blind .Apparently it was their only album before splitting up . It's a cracker with some quality 70's soul tracks on it , highly recommended people , just buy it !! Is anybody playing any of their other stuff in their sets ,

Rich B Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 "Helplessly" was played - on Roulette initially, before the remix on the Salsoul 12". I love the album, "At long last" is one of my favourites, I would certainly play that one out! I was amazed we didn't hear more of "So much for love" back inthe 70's. Best, RB
John Benson Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 "Helplessly" was played - on Roulette initially, before the remix on the Salsoul 12". Also on Roulette the odd spin was given for "Your love" / "If at first you don't succeed" A nice double sider - if you get the issue. Agreed - the album has some lovely tracks on

Agreed - the album has some lovely tracks on Thanks for that John, my memory is getting so defective! I was sure I had a Roulette copy of a tune called "Your love"! Now, finding it, that's going to be another matter! Hope you're well, best, RB

I only "re-discovered" it myself when I flipped over the 12" a few years ago when I was looking for stuff to put on tape for a friend! Edited March 15, 2009 by mel brat

I'm almost sure I have it on a UK Salsoul 45...
Rich B Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Hi Rich! Isn't "At long last" on the flip side to "You got me humming"? I'm almost sure I have it on a UK Salsoul 45... It may well be John, but I haven't got a 45 of it, just the album! Sad really.... Best, RB

Agreed - the album has some lovely tracks on re. your love, i used to have a copy with the instrumental on the other side, had loads of copies since with long and short vocal versions, but no copies of the insrumental, had demos and issues
Steve G Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Will have to dig this out,. FOund it for 50p in Harlequin Liverpool St in about 1981....it's been in the lock up ever since. Didn't they also have an album on Roulette>???
Steveh73 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Totally agree - what a great album - So Much For Love a great soulful disco 12 to boot! They also had 3 tracks on the Nocturna soundtrack - Whacha Gonna Do, Love at First Sight, I'm Hopelessly In Love With You - all well worth a listen. And if you want to see what they looked like, take a look at this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Boyoc4yHkoM Cheers Steve.
