Guest MrsB Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 If anyone's got a mint copy of CLAUDE HUEY - WHY DID YOU BLOW IT on GALAXY for sale for £125.
Guest gfarrington Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 If anyone's got a mint copy of CLAUDE HUEY - WHY DID YOU BLOW IT on GALAXY for sale for £125. last time i saw one in a box at a niter it was a lot more than that , would'nt have belived it if i had'nt seen it myself good luck anyway
Garethx Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 last time i saw one in a box at a niter it was a lot more than that , would'nt have belived it if i had'nt seen it myself good luck anyway One thing to bear in mind with this record is that the absolutely brilliant deep flip, Why Did Our Love Go, came out on double sided deejay copies (i.e. without Why Would You Blow It). If anyone has one of those for sale I would be very interested in buying it. Sold WWYBI when it started to become in-demand, but still really miss the flip.

Sami, when I was at your place, did I tell you that you really got an extraordinary good taste young man ?
Ady Pountain Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Well said garethx 'Why Did Our Love Go' is a great Soul Track by Claude Huey as is the flip to Claude 'Baby' Huey's - 'Drifting' on M.I.O.B. 'Just Won't Believe'. There is an old Kent / Horace's LP with them both on, Cheers, Ady
Garethx Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I think the dj copy with just the ballad might be quite rare. Most seem to have both sides.
Guest MrsB Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Don't mind people making comments about the record but if you want to buy a copy why don't you start your own thread. Or don't the rules of etiquette apply?
Garethx Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) Don't mind people making comments about the record but if you want to buy a copy why don't you start your own thread. Or don't the rules of etiquette apply? Hi I don't want to buy the copy you wish to buy. I stated I would be interested in the dj copy which doesn't feature "Why Would You Blow It". In fact it's probably best to lock a 'wants' topic after the first post if you don't want people to hold a discussion about soul music. The board would be very dry if everyone did that, but I suppose it would promote 'good etiquette'. Good luck in your search. yours in soul gareth Edited March 11, 2009 by garethx

Haven't got a problem with info or debate only with subjects posted that could potentially compromise my want. I assume you didn't do it deliberately and if you could edit out the comments proferring to buy I'd be satisfied.Â
pikeys dog Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I don't know why you're getting so narky... you'll never get one for £125 these days whatevers on the flip.

I only want the double sided deejay copy with "Why Did Our Love Go" on both sides. Could I be any clearer?

Maybe slightly optimistic but the last copy sold on Manship's auction only sold for £200 and we all know how 'realistic' his auction prices are.Â
NEV Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Maybe slightly optimistic but the last copy sold on Manship's auction only sold for £200 and we all know how 'realistic' his auction prices are. I have the promo with both sides wanted and got it off ebay not that long ago for less than £125 Sadly for both parties ,it's not for sale But proof that they are out there ,so don't be too despondant MrsB
Garethx Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I don't know if my post was too confusing but I'll reiterate and try to keep it simple. The released 45 is Galaxy 768 Why Would You Blow It / Why Did Our Love Go Most deejay copies feature both sides. Last year Craig Moerer auctioned a copy of Galaxy 768DJ Why Did Our Love Go / Why Did Our Love Go i.e. the ballad on both sides. This is the copy of the record I would like to buy: not 'compromising' Mrs. B's want in any way, because this copy of the 45 does not feature the track she's after. I owned a copy of "Why Would You Blow It" for over twenty years, bought for pennies, sold for a bit more. I have no desire to own it again as I think it's a decidedly average record. The ballad on the other side, however, is a different matter, which is why I was intrigued that a demo exists which means I wouldn't have to shell out for WWYBI. I hope this is all clear. Please let me know if any of the above is unclear. best, gareth

WWYBI decidedly average compared to the ballad side Wash your ears out man But as they say "each to thier own" and "one man's meat is another man's poison" Good luck in your search, both of you

Thanks for putting me on to "Why Did Our Love Go" - awesome !! After reading through the thread, I was certain that my copy was a double sided promo, but I was dead chuffed to find my promo has the ballad side - Cheers
