RELEASE UPDATE 2009 - Two amazing new reissue 45s

from Sticky Records - London UK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GRUPO AFRICA - Kila Kila

BLACK PEPPER - You Keep Running Out of Gas

An aptly named EXPLOSIVE 70s Dub Reggae club cut of gigantic proportions that has deeper roots than it's credited heritage. One of the heaviest dubs ever laid to wax. Pressed on a loud 45. This is of course Errol Thompson & Joe Gibbs with 'Chapter Three' Background history along with band & production credits to follow on the Sticky Website shortly....

MANTECA - Cosas de Manteca / Gozando el Timbal

INCREDIBLE PURE RHYTHM - The first ever worldwide 45 release for these two slices of heavyweight & obscure 1970s Afro-Cuban Percussion. Cosas de Manteca is an impeccable example of Latin Funk. The best tracks from this iconic figure of Cuban Percussion's very rare LP on a loud 45 for DJs - Perfect.

Greetings,

It's been quite a while since our first release (four years in fact)...but Sticky Records are proud to announce two new reissue 45s for 2009 and we think they are two very special ones at that!

First up a true dub masterpiece - if you only own one dub track this would do you for sure. This is of course Errol Thompson & Joe Gibbs with 'Chapter Three'

That is backed with the stunning female funky soul of Black Pepper - The first ever 45 release. Web search engines may not be the best indicator of an unknown record I know, but they give zero results on this and I've been hunting for another copy the original issue of this for 20 years and have never seen it on a sales / play list or listed on ebay, so believe us when we say this is a very obscure one. But here it is - please take a listen - it's one hell of a glorious 60s soul record.

As the above write up says, Manteca really is incredible pure rhythm, grooves like this just have an all round appeal - for DJ's & fans of: Latin, Cuban, Funk and Jazz. 'Cosas de Manteca' also has that Incredible Bongo Band 'Apache' vibe going on, a relentless rhythm with B-Boy appeal.

Flipped with 'Gozando el Timbal' - well you just got to be feeling those timbales with that heavy bass, serious serious music! - please check out the release notes on our web site for more background and take a listen too.

These are both limited issues - pressed in Nashville, Tennessee. Fully authorised & legally licensed, just as they should be!

In addition, in the last few weeks we have finally managed to make contact with three of the band members of the Fabulous Capris - our first release, ST001.

We have updated the web site with some additional background information and courtesy of Wesley Dennis (keyboards) we have now included two stunning original band photos which have not previously been published.

It's been a real pleasure to link with these guys, they are all still in love and involved in music too. It turns out that they are the same band who cut 'Groovy World' and the 'Fabulous Caprices' was just a typographical error by the Camaro label typesetters. There's also some information about unauthorised pressings on the web site too - with a bit of (hopefully) good news around the corner. Now just a few copies of this 45 left in stock.

So please have a listen and a read at our web site and feel free to drop us a line with any comments or questions.

Hope you enjoy these as much as us, all bar one side, these don't exist as original 45s - so these really are very select releases.

All the best.

Thank you from:
