Mark Bicknell Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "It's not the same" for me. Ditto mate, by far their best record, awesome does it for me everytime, as for getting them over to the UK I think the cost involved would be too much to promote, they still work throughout the USA and the fee alone would be out of reach for most events overhere except somewhere like Prestatyn maybe. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Jaco Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "It's not the same" for me. Agreed. Wonderful record, poignant lyrics.

Guest Fatius Bumius Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Dunno about needing a decent orchestra, they could bang it out on a dustbin lid and still sound great to me
Dave Moore Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 (edited) I beg to differ Mark........... weve got them if we want them............. ticket sales depending.... What? With their backing band? If so....put me down for a ticket for sure!! I have been lucky enough to see them twice, (or rather once he was solo in the 80s). Randazzo was a genius. Combined with the talents of LA&Is he left a remarkable musical legacy. People at the 'top of there game'. "> Edited February 28, 2009 by Dave Moore
Guest cocopachino Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "It's not the same" for me. And me too
groovywoovy Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 yesterday has gone for me as well as the others.
Guest Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 What? With their backing band? YES THERE are 8 OF THEM travelling.... If so....put me down for a ticket for sure!! COOL.......BUT NEED MORE SUPPORT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN..... I have been lucky enough to see them twice, (or rather once he was solo in the 80s). Randazzo was a genius. Combined with the talents of LA&Is he left a remarkable musical legacy. People at the 'top of there game'. THEY HAVE JUST GOT INTO THE R&R HALL OF FAME.... IN FACT THEY OFFICIALLY ENTER THE H0F ON 4TH APRIL 2009...........
Guest Fatius Bumius Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 would walk on broken glass to see them, but they would need a really good backing band or even an orchestra. SORTED ALREADY.......WEVE GOT A GREAT 15 PIECE BACKING BAND/ORCHESTRA AND HIRED A MUSICAL DIRECTOR.... Crikey Mrs Boop, you don't do things by halves do ya lass? If I win the lottery tonight I'll buy all the last remaining Palais tickets. A group with just over 50 years in the business, still an original line up, his voice is still amazing! Palais tickets at £15 a chuck to see The Falcons, Ruby Andrews, with the added bonus of Little Anthony if all the tickets sell....phew, what a day it will be
Guest aaaaa Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 im on the outside looking in, love that track, so put me down for a pair of tickets for definate
Mr Soul Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I beg to differ Mark........... weve got them if we want them............. ticket sales depending.... THIS WOULD BE A MOMENTUS OCCASION ,AFTER YEARS OF BOMBARDING THEM WITH EMAILS TO GET OVER TO THE U.K.. THEY ARE STILL TOP DRAWER IN THE STATES AS DAVE AS POINTED OUT,THIS FOR ME WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE
Platters 81 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Little Anthony +Imperials are THE top drawer on the East Coast Doo- Wop Oldies circuit....my doo-wop friends tell me they are brilliant...a recent package had them on the same bill as Gene Chandler.......it you could get them it would be super......(and they could smuggle Sonny Turner of the Platters in!)

Benji Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Transferred their "Payin' our dues" album to my iPod recently and when I played "lost without you" for the first time I was complete in awe Without a doubt the best beat ballad Teddy Randazzo and Little Anthony & Imperials ever did! As good as "Hurt so bad", "Not the same", "Yesterday has gone", "Call me the joker", etc. are, "lost without you" surpasses them all. Everything you need in a good beat ballad, big production orchestra, drama lyrics, the lot. Very highly recommended! And to come back to the topic of this thread: I'd like to see them performing "lost without you"

Dave Moore Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I thought this was Ruby Andrews and The Falcons appearing. Are you saying that Little Anthony and The Imperials are also appearing at this event? Jeeze, that's only six weeks away. Best get mi skates on. Where do we get tickets? How much are they? Is there a website or booking procedure we need to go to through? Nearest Airport?
Guest Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 SORRY THATS NOT ANSWERED THE QUESTION GET A PACKED ROOM TO SHOW THEM THEY HAVE MORE THAN 1500 FANS NO not a packed room.....(when did we mention a packed room) ............ the capacity for Palais (Oceana) is over 3000 for which we could sell that amount of tickets..... however the capacity for the ballroom in which LAI will be performing is only 1500 and on that basis to sell 3000 plus tickets would result unfortunately in either a stampede or 1500 valued customers not being able to see a show that they had paid to see.
