Cunnie Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Always amazed at how much folks pay for Al Mason on Fynal Vynil as it's only a second issue & not the original vinyl copy as JM stated in the auction. Came out first on the Al & The Kid 12" a few years before. Thought the Allan Harris 12" would go for a lot more though as a copy went through on e bay a few days ago for more than double than the JM auction copy.
Dave Pinch Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 don't think it was the best of condition a nice copy on ebay last week sailed thru with no bids at all. did start at £450 0dd tho dave

Yes, but that was probably just one lucky eBay seller... (it sold for $361 but just 3 days earlier a copy in better condition sold for $90). Would be interesting to see how much the 7" of Allan Harris could fetch in a Manship auction.

That is such a well arranged song, the longer version never gets dull for me. Great string and horn arrangements, really top shelf.
Corbett80 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Is that cheap for the Charles Brandy? Thought it was more like £3k or is that the issue?
Tony Smith Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Is that cheap for the Charles Brandy? Thought it was more like £3k or is that the issue? Is £2114 cheap?!

Steve Plumb Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Would be interesting to see how much the 7" of Allan Harris could fetch in a Manship auction. The B side of Allan Harris is just fookin wonderful! Surprised it hasn't been picked up on yet! Think £125 is about the right price for the 12" imho! Cheers Steve
Corbett80 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 'Is £2114 cheap?!' No not at all but i thought it was booked at more than that.....? And usually John gets WAY over the book price...

Sebastian Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 The B side of Allan Harris is just fookin wonderful! Surprised it hasn't been picked up on yet! It's a good ballad/stepper for sure, but not something I would ever play to a dancefloor.
Simon M Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 It's a good ballad/stepper for sure, but not something I would ever play to a dancefloor. Ive always wondered what the whole of the LP is like ?
