Philippe Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) I recently bought the great Prince Phillip Mitchell CD on Grapevine, when I hear "How can I go on without you", I'M SURE I have it elsewhere in my collection (LP's only) but by who ? Please, can someone help me through this Alzheimer moment ? Thanks in advance. Edited February 26, 2009 by Philippe
Bully Boy Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) COREY BLAKE 7" only though on Capitol. LP's not so sure, unless you have compilation albums as well. Edited February 26, 2009 by Bully Boy
Guest sandi Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 COREY BLAKE 7" only though on Capitol. LP's not so sure, unless you have compilation albums as well. I have both copies of "How can l go on without you", Corey Blake on Grape Vine, and John Edwards on Kent.........It's John Edwards l believe that is on an album entitled "A Careful Man", Aware Recordings. But l could be wrong . Sandi
Pat Wallace Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Corey Blake is on a compilation album called Get Involved. It is an official Capitol Records release. John Edwards is on a Kent CD only. It was intended for an Aware album that never got released. Pat

Sandi You're right Sandi, thanks ! That's John Edwards on the "Careful man" Kent CD, though it's titled "How can I make it without you". Edited February 26, 2009 by Philippe
Cunnie Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Also recorded by Al Mason of Good Lovin fame. Came out in 1994 on a very hard to find CD called I Can't Complain. Took me ages to track down a copy. Best version as well IMO.

Interesting I dug my copy out the other day and it didn't sound as good as I remembered it......might have to give it a second chance..... Steve

Steve All great versions of a truly great song really Steve but Al Mason just shades it for me. Will post it up in a mo.
Guest Paul Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Pleasant but a bit pointless in my opinion. The programming is bland and weak, especially the stiff drums and the fake strings and horns. It's all a bit too quantized. Sadly typical of many tracks from the period.
Guest Adam G Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Good version great voice but for me the John Edwards version vocally is by far the better.

Guest Adam G Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Have you heard Phillip Mitchell ? To me both versions are great. Yes Phillip got the cd and Phillips is a good version , "just the beginning " is my favourite track fro the cd. I really like Prince Phillip Mitchells voice but compared to a voice like John Edwards no contest . John Edwards is just an awsome awsome voiced singer. If he can made a crap middle of the road song like "Tin Man" one of my all time favourites . Adam Now if Bobby Bland did a version..........................................................
Guest sandi Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Now if Bobby Bland did a version.......................................................... Or even John Gary Williams ! now that's a guy with a great voice Sandi
