Guest Dan Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 there are some right idiots over there aren't there? i've just won some items from one of those feedback jockeys. paypal-ed the dude literally instantly. two days later he send me an email thanking me for my prompt payment and adding that he'll leave feedback after i've feedbacked him when the items arrive. i couldn't care less about feedback as long as someone doesn't leave me an unfair negative but i gently pointed out that i'd fulfilled my side of the deal and was therefore entitled to my positive - he'd get his when he fulfilled his. his reply: Hi Dan, It is a long story why I do not leave feedback until the entire transaction is finished: I do not leave feedback until the transaction is completed and both parties are happy with it. I do not want to tell you that I never make mistakes, but I want to make sure when I do I can correct the problem so that both buyer and sellers are satisfied. Just because payment has been made, the transaction is not complete yet. Seller feedback is not only based on payment but on the whole transaction. Leaving feedback for an unfinished transaction does not make any sense. The reason I do not leave feedback unless feedback is left for me is the following: I started leaving feedback as soon as payment was made when I first started selling on Ebay and then discovered that about 5 out of every 10 buyers never left feedback for me. I spent more time sending out emails requesting feedback than conducting business and loading new items for selling. On top of that, most buyers if they do not leave feedback after they receive the item, do not intend to leave feedback no matter how many times I ask. If a buyer seller does not want to leave feedback after a transaction is completed to their satisfaction or dissatisfaction, that is the decision of the buyer. For me to leave feedback and then have to follow up and send email after email to receive the same from a buyer consumes more time than I have to spend. I post my feedback at least once a week for sellers who are kind enough to do the same. I hope that the feedback is good from all my sales because any problems in the transaction have been worked out before feedback is given. I am sorry if you do not agree with my position but it is one that I have held for over a long period of time. I hope you can understand my position. Answer: not really. I've paid you - that's my positive. You get the records to me - that's your positive. If there's a problem with the records, we'll talk about it. War-and-peace-writing feedback jockey!
