Corbett80 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) 'And if it's just a record that you and a few other people you asked about know, how do you know that it's not well known by others?' But most of us like talking about rare records which is why we are here, and in mentioning these records perhaps someone can throw some light on them, so this thread is very worthwhile imho. Fine if you are lucky enough to have them all but if you aren't perhaps it may stimulate some info for others? Edited February 25, 2009 by mulf

Fine if you are lucky enough to have them all but if you aren't perhaps it may stimulate some info for others? feel free to talk about whatever records you want, rare or not, I'm not stopping you. I was just saying that trying to count numbers of copies is what's silly. I complained about this in another thread where someone was selling an obscure but not ultra-rare record as "two known copies." Thanks.
Pumpkinseed Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The irony of all this is that there are literally 1000's of really rare records. Yes !! BUT.... 80% of them are SHITE !!
Dylan Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The irony of all this is that there are literally 1000's of really rare records. wouldn't be very interesting if there were only a few hundred. I sill hear records that are new to me every week. Its a bottomless pit.

Pomonkey Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 <<>> I have one - as does Tim Brown. Also have an Alice Rouzier & Little Joe on the same label here, suspect this is just as hard.
Ady Croasdell Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Just played Ace's discographer Peter Gibbon's copy of Floyd Barber on Symbol, it's very good but inbetween so many styles, Northern, mod R&B. Has it ever had any plays or action?

Has it ever had any plays or action? I just started playing it in Hamburg to a very good reception. I think once you hear it a few times, it fits very well into a set of Northern with a bit of R&B!!! NICE

Guest marco Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Her's a few more Combinations-Kimtone maybe 4-5 Classics-Yan G maybe 3 Eddie Parker-I lost a true love-Mica(I think)?? Only one I know of is Andy Dyson's. Much better version than the Triple B one. I have an original studio disc of it. Hello Dave, Eddie P's on Miko I believe. I'm pretty sure that it's the exact same cut as the Tripple B version... though I'm prepared to be corrected! I know Butch sold a minter and a beat up one in the last year or three. I have a Little Tony on Etah by the way folks - to add to the list.
