Visited the Casino Cafe in the Grand arcade Wigan a couple of days ago.Its all a bit of a cringe really but one exhibit did interest me.The original Casino turntable decks were on show. The thing is after studying the photo of the decks in the book The In Crowd they appear to be different. Were The decks changed at some point and does anyone know what make they were or any other details

Garrard SP 25 .. probably. not easy to see from that pic though.. they may be the later, cheaper BSR ones though..

What they are for people over 70 to use so they have handrails for support :tumbleweed3:

The handrails are actually for carrying the decks while putting them back into the purple carrycase. the decks are BSR although they did use Garrards as well. Chisser actually still uses a citronic twin deck at Soul at Joe's

Dawson and Haydn are correct in ID'ing a Citronic Hawaii with BSR decks. I used one with Garrard SP25 decks and Stanton 500 carts.

Late seventies decks that were the Mobile standard till Technics took over.

Definitely saw a picture of the three deck system which I thought was the original set up. Quote underneath from Russ said this was a picture of him and a local guy called Ian Fishwick who helped in the early days

Ian Fishwick was from Aspull nr Wigan i worked for his Dad for two years in 77/78 J W Fishwick builders.

Ian played in a band i think it was called Copper Kettle at the time, He also helped Russ at Wigan Rugby Club soul night in the ealy 70's, The decks in the photo look like the ones the rugby club had, I'm not saying there the one's they just look like them

BSR tables, citronic mixer not sure of the number but def citronic, maybe a very early version of the hawaii console,Later versions came in a large purple carry case hence the handles to pull out of case,In later years type of deck was the norm for many mobile dj's

Best person to ask surely would be Russ Winstanley. He will know where the original decks ended up cos they were'nt destroyed in the fire. No thoughts about conning the insurance company in them day's. I would like to know where they are, wonder if they still work !!!! C'mon Russ give us a clue mate.
