Ady Croasdell Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Are 2 totally different recordings and the LP sounds like a Pied Piper production in a lot of way, particularly the girly backing vocals. It's far superior to the 45.

I note that the publishing company must have been taken over by Jobete by 1972. Chris

Benji Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Don't think I've heard the LP version. Any chance of a soundfile Ady/Ken? I have a recording of the A-Bet reissue version on my laptop at home. Can post it either tonight or tomorrow if you guys still need it, please PM me a reminder if that's the case... Edit: Have a recording of the 45 version as well that I can post... Edited February 18, 2009 by Benji

Guest Paul Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Mp3 are not allowed I forgot about that, Ken, but they're only 96 kb/s quality. And they sound better because they're not allowed. Like forbidden fruit. Go on, have a listen ...nobody's looking.
Dave Moore Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Just dug out the Money copy and listened to them both. Can't hear no Pied Piper 'sound' Ady. Think I prefer the original version especially with that majestic/fanfare intro. I'd never heard the LP version before so thanks guys.

As I said, I like both but the 45 version has a nice simplicity to it. Calm and confident.
Guest Paul Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Think i have this on A-bet 45,never listened to it. Nice cover shot, Ken. I'm trying to zoom in on the price sticker. Does it really say 35p? And does that include postage?
