I don't know what the solution is (as a promoter we don't have this problem ) BUT i don't think memberships are the way to go or should i say it wouldn't work for us at BASICS at all .

Personally i don't want to restrict the people who make a late decision to come and see what we're about

That's easy to get round, at These old Shoes we just used to tell undesirables that it was members only and apologise. If they complained that nobody was showing cards we would just say that they didn't need to as we knew all the members.
