soul45s Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I had this delivered today, ok it only cost a couple of dollars but....wtf!
Dennisoul Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 You`ve got to wonder sometimes I had one recently that came in an A4 envelope, protected with only the card from a Frosties packet. One single piece of card either side of the record. It survived too, must have been Tony the Tiger that kept it safe. Andy

soul45s Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 I emailed the seller to complain, he said he sellotapes all records like this to stop them coming out of the sleeve during transit..

Guest johnm Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Nice tune though - always on in the car........
Diggin' Dave Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Something to do with packages containing dubious substances apparently, Customs.. And they find out what dubious substances are in there by stabbing it? I wonder which genius came up with that idea.
michael-j Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 And they find out what dubious substances are in there by stabbing it? I wonder which genius came up with that idea. i think the theory is that certain powders or horticultural produce will then fall out the hole... it's why JA sellers always offer FedEx etc as safer alternatives!
Cunnie Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I received some 45s in a 9" Pizza box once - they had kindly left some cheese in it as well. Cheesy records? Seller must have heard you playing out Joe Had the same thing happen but at least they were 12" singles in a 12" box (smelled like a spicy meatfeast if I remember rightly).

Guest mel brat Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Had one through a few months ago in just a PAPER SLEEVE with no packing at all. I was staggered that it was still in one piece!
Guest mel brat Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 And they find out what dubious substances are in there by stabbing it? I wonder which genius came up with that idea. Perhaps they imagine there's a small endangered animal in there that might benefit from a few breathing holes??
Diggin' Dave Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Hmmm, that would spoil it for vinyl sniffers Looks like that quote'll haunt me for the rest of my days

Philly Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Got one this morning 7" single and it was packed in a grocery box which had been flattened, and then selotaped round the edges, measuring 18" x 16". It did make me giggle though when I read what had been its original contents....... and they were banana/nut flavour, seriously...... lol
