Big tunes come and big tunes go but one song stays in the top ten every time.

It's not a cool tune, it's not trendy and you can pick it up for pennies, but it's as good a slice of the seventies as you'll hear, a guaranteed dancer as well.

Street People - I Wanna Spend My Whole Life With You.

Don't think I could limit myself to a top ten.

But the one that would be at the top of the tree would be Eddie Parker 'I'm Gone'.

Without doubt the most incredible soul record ever. Imagine being in the studio when they recorded it!

Tickled Pink slipping in there, that's a big call.

Would you really take that over a Carleen, Groove Merchants or Lil Lavair? I'd have thought Innersouls would have tipped Tickled Pink as well, and a similar style. A very big call!

...which no doubt evolves & changes many, many times, are there any records that maintain it's position in the hallowed chart?

Soul Brothers six - I'll be loving you, will never leave my top ten.

You Really Made It Good to Me - Ty Karim (Romark)

George Blackwell - Can't Lose My Head - Smoke has alway's been in my top ten possibly holding the number one slot, the record has it all and pretty much sums up for me what it's all about, close to perfection.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Have to agree with you on this one Mark, sadly I've never owned a copy and it's top of my wants list.

just love the record to bits.

I have fond memories of this being massive at Wigan and where line "clap your hands, won't you clap em for me" appears, the place used to be filled with every dancer clapping along to the beat, I get goosepimples thinking about it as I type.

the perfect record in my eyes.
