I wanna be your everything. Pretenders. Actually, I prefer this version!
shute Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Sounds like an alternative take of The Pretenders on Carnival 'I Wanna Be'
TheBigO Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I'd have thought Mr Ady C would be the man to answer this as he released the rather lovely 3 cd set of Carnival releases and as i dont have mine to hand cant confirm if this is the Pretenders alt. take or not butit is the same song.

Very nice tho!
Dave Abbott Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Deffo "I wanna be" originally done by the Manhattans. Is this the Manahattans? I would be very surprised if this is the Pretenders doing an alternate take. This is far superior. Reall like this
Guest Dan Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 ah the manhattans must have been what was on tip of tongue not them though is it? not the pretenders either i don't think aaaarrrghh
Chalky Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 To my ear it sounds like the Manhattans with a different take.. Would deffo say same lead.
Pete S Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Sounds nothing like the Manhattans version, too far removed to be an alternative from that session I'd have thought. I think it's Peter Starstedt.

I think it's Peter Starstedt. link Dunno Pete, brain a wash with ale from last night, not saying it's from same session but still think it sounds like same lead. I'll have another listen when head clears a bit
Guest Dan Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 i've got it now knew i knew it it's the b side to a record i already have (the other side of the acetate is buggered and can't be played, otherwise it would have been easy (assuming it's the same a side) for those interested in trying to work it out it's a guy spin from the 80s...
