Guest Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 hi all, just browsing through the wants, someone wanting world column so is the sun reminded me of an emi disc with this on one side and mvp's turning my heartbeat up on t'other side. just wondering if this is worth anything as don't have a clue about these and why they were done, so enlightenment would be appeciated, regards graham.

Guest Russ Smith Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 anyone???? Not worth much at all.. generally Emidiscs are mainly just late 60s and 70s acetates and probably well worn and very quiet by now.100s and 100s must have been dubbed off cassette recordings of the records in various cutting rooms around the UK in the 70s when original 45s were very hard to come by.. Pieces of NS history but not much else sadly.. Other, non-soul Emidiscs however and big centre USA type acetates, different ball game altogether!

I've still got my old Twans Emi from '77 , its so quiet you have to crank the volume to 10 to hear it... Lenny Curtis on t'other side. One of my first lessons as a youth when i bought an Emi of Marie Knight off Tony Dellar on a friday night at the Howard Mallett, made up, chuffed until i got Echoes the following wednesday and found out it had just got booted.
