I don't know but a piece of a Heartbeat trivia is that the character, 'Bernie Scripps' takes his name from my uncle. They liked the name and asked if they could use it!
Guest Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I don't know but a piece of a Heartbeat trivia is that the character, 'Bernie Scripps' takes his name from my uncle. They liked the name and asked if they could use it! A good friend of mine in our village , has written episodes in the past for Heartneat , and his daughter appeared in a role in one episode : does this count in the SS / Heartbeat name dropping stakes ? I asked someone I know who is involved with the company who make the repro signs for Heartbeat ( and other nostalgia programmes ) , if they knew who compiled the music , but was told all they knew , that it was an independant company who specialise in doing so . Malc Burtoni know what you mean malc but hit and run on heartbeat was almost all of the tune!!!! i think this episode did include a hit and run driver,!!!
Guest Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 i know what you mean malc but hit and run on heartbeat was almost all of the tune!!!! i think this episode did include a hit and run driver,!!! Heartbeat has a habit - as you will know - of " attaching " records to a particular situation or scene : I would not be surprised if it was linked to , as you state , a hit and run incident ....... The usage of NS records has diminished in recent series : when it first started , there was a plethora of dancefloor classics ...... Malc Burton

Guest mel brat Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) There was a programme on 'Football in the 70s' a couple of years ago which featured a constant soundtrack of Northern Soul songs - most of which were never, ever heard outside of clubs at the time - including Chuck Wood, 'Bari Track' etc! I could just imagine some young Media Studies graduate figuring; "Hmmm! Football programme set in the 70s eh?. Any North-ern football clubs featured? North-ern Soul was really popular back in the old days wasn't it? That er, place in Wigan n' stuff? (RETRO! Groovy baby!) - Now what did I do with that North-ern Soul compilation CD I found on the tube...?" Re. "Heatbeat" I bet it's the only time that Linda Jones' "Hypnotized" ever got played on TV (or mainstream radio for that matter!) I caught it once - I was staggered. Edited February 9, 2009 by mel brat
