Dave Moore Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 long shot i know.im in prague ,wenceslas sq on the above dates. anything of a soulful persuasion happening there, then. I doubt it very much. Wenceslas Sq has been ruined. Big Mac's and KFC now. Cross the bridge and hit the old style cafes/puppet theatres/bars Mate, much better.

NEV Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 thank you both. have to settle for eating,drinking,....drinking czech beer is supposed to be v.good im told. looking fwd to it.never been b4 Getting expensive now but if you gonna be on the lash try to find the bars that the locals drink in. Irish bar breakfast is nice but costly . If you were going in summer i'd recommend going down by the river but i bet it's bloody freezing in Feb. Great place all the same

Billyboy Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Yep, Go to Prague for an Irish breakfast! Classic Dave
Ralf Mehnert Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 ...try to find the bars that the locals drink in. Especially on tuesday nights in parts of Prague without any tourists when the barmaids work topless (and that`s no joke). Try to find the UJEZD pub (18 Ujezd street near the river). In the cellar is a nice bar some Bohamians supporters run. Last time I went there they played a lot of Northern oldies...
Guest smigger Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 long shot i know.im in prague ,wenceslas sq on the above dates. anything of a soulful persuasion happening there, then. Have a word with this lad https://www.cptsparky.com/ His parties are not strictly (northern) soul but depending on the djs he's booked you might be in with a chance.
billysbag Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 just got back and recommend a club called " last call" playing a lot of modern soul just off the main intersection in centre of wenceslas square. open 6pm-3 am DONT go to "korean house" chinese restaurant, the most awful supplier of offal at the highest prices ive ever been to.I had pieces of chicken that bernard mathews packing plant had rejected,my wife is still chewing the beef.
Guest Eridu Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 My favorite bar in Prague. I'd also recommend this place to anyone heading over to Prague in the future. A few years back I frequented Ujezd often, and they tended to play mostly ska. Nice artist owned bar. Especially on tuesday nights in parts of Prague without any tourists when the barmaids work topless (and that`s no joke). Try to find the UJEZD pub (18 Ujezd street near the river).
